-
- On Comments
-
- Don't take any one comment too personally (applies to both positive and negative comments).
- Don't take any one comment too seriously with exception to a very specific feature or feedback. Chances are for every comment that says "I want X" you'll find one that says "I don't want X".
- Look for trends in comments when trying to determine if a certain feature is wanted or not.
- There were a lot more comments than I guessed there might be (over 12,000). This is great in that our users want to give their feedback, but also bad in that actually going through the comments to get something out of them will be difficult.
- On Wikia
-
- There are a lot of comments mentioning Wikia as they are our main competitor.
- Don't take most of the comments too seriously. It would appear the ES community is split between the two wikis with a "love or hate it" attitude towards one or the other. While a lot of the comments are negative towards Wikia chances are a survey on Wikia would be generally negative towards the UESP.
- Both wikis have their own style and format and we should be careful not to be just a clone. "Borrowing" specific any features that work well is fine but we should focus on what UESP does well and not on what Wikia does well or not.
