Hiral Varollus

Hiral Varollus is an Imperial Priest and the Primate of the Order of Dibella Estetica - a prosperous cult found in the city of Anvil. The Order has of late been riven into two dissenting factions - ascetics and hedonists. Hiral's own strictly ascetic viewpoint is largely responsible for that philosophy gaining ground over the hedonists of the cult, and she describes the philosophy as follows:

"The sinful masses are full of lust and base desires, and cry deprivation at that which is holy. Asceticism is the conscious rejection of mortal voices, including one's own. Only when the mind and body are quiet may a mind approach the divine beauty -- the divine truth -- of the Goddess." - Hiral Varollus, on ascetic

She sees the opposing hedonist faction as an unwanted influence from the Nibenay that interferes with proper worship of Dibella:

"The hedonists hold to the discredited, corrupt traditions of the Nibenay, which view Dibella as a goddess of rapture, lust, desire, and sensuality. Their outlook is dangerous and corrosive to the Faith, and all those of us who earnestly seek to understand and worship the Goddess in her purity." - Hiral Varollus, on hedonist

The Primate is opposed in her views by other high-ranking temple members, including Cassandra Verach and the Theurgist, Lessi Hecaria. She is supported by Dalia Lasalian, in whose judgement she trusts.
