"The Great Faiths is a generic term used to refer to Cyrodiil's various cults of the Divines. They are the progenitors of the Imperial Cult, but opinions are split among many temples and priests whether its proselytizing in the provinces is in service to their mission or a crass violation of it. Most cults do not accept outsiders that aren't already trained in their ways, so those devout who don't want to dedicate their lives to a specific temple often seek out the Itinerant Priests instead." – Hiral Varollus, Primate at the Temple of Dibella Estetica
The Great Faiths is a catch-all term for those who dedicate themselves to serving one of the Nine Divines, with their spiritual service being bound more to one location and deity than those affiliated with the Order of Itinerant Priests. The missionary arm of the Great Faiths in provinces such as Morrowind is known as the Imperial Cult.
Joining the Great Faiths[edit]
It is not possible to join the Great Faiths faction, with the Order of Itinerant Priests being the intended means for the player to interact with the Great Faiths and the myriad cults of Cyrodiil.
