The factions listed below are technically defined by Tamriel Data, though their individual pages are under the corresponding mod that adds the faction's members and related content. They are defined by Data mainly so that faction records are not spread throughout section files during development and so that they can easily be changed.

Global Factions[edit]

Cyrodiil Factions[edit]

New Factions[edit]

These factions do not have a presence on Vvardenfell, Mournhold, Solstheim, or other provinces and therefore are exclusive to Cyrodiil.

Cyrodiil Branches of Existing Factions[edit]

These factions are Cyrodiil branches of existing factions. This split is necessary mainly for dialogue and quest progression purposes.

Morrowind Factions[edit]

New Factions[edit]

These factions do not have a presence on Vvardenfell, Mournhold, Solstheim, or other provinces and therefore are exclusive to mainland Morrowind.

Major Existing Factions[edit]

These factions were originally split into Vvardenfell and Mainland branches, but are now one. Generally, these are the factions that you choose to join and complete questlines with.

Skyrim Factions[edit]

New Factions[edit]

These factions do not have a presence on Vvardenfell, Mournhold, Solstheim, or other provinces and therefore are exclusive to Skyrim.

Imperial[edit]

Vampire[edit]

These factions are Skyrim branches of existing factions. This split is necessary mainly for dialogue and quest progression purposes.
