Mercenary Adder is a Nord employed by Lady Raxalee to act as her bodyguard. She is first encountered at the Raxalee Quarry Offices in Ontus.

Speaking with her before starting the related quest:

"If you have business here, get to it. Just be aware—I'm watching you."

Quest-Related Events

While helping Constable Yabren continue her father's investigation of the recent deaths in Ontus, she will ask you to speak with both Baron Carvain and Lady Raxalee, who own the local ranch and quarry respectively.

When you visit the Raxalee Quarry Offices, Mercenary Adder will be standing in front of Lady Raxalee's desk as she works.

Speaking with her, she will give instructions on how to conduct yourself:

"Lady Raxalee is very busy. If you must talk to her, be succinct, be direct, and be polite. Then leave as soon as she dismisses you."

You can then interview Lady Raxalee, afterwards you will be dismissed:

"I'm pretty sure I heard Lady Raxalee ask you to please leave."

After this you will search the nobles' residences and Zeggar's Blind and uncover the reasons behind the recent sickness and deaths. When Constable Yabren goes to warn Ghrakug, she is ambushed by mercenaries and taken to the Ontus Reservoir where Baron Carvain and Lady Raxalee plan to frame her for the fever fatigue.

When enter the Ontus Reservoir, you will find Constable Yabren chained up with Baron Carvain demanding she sign the confession letter. Meanwhile Rowdy Tharden and Mercenary Adder prepping barrels to dump the fever causing elixir into the water supply. Once the nobles notice you, they will order the mercenaries to kill you.

While Constable Yabren chases after the Baron and Lady, you will need to deal with the mercenary bodyguards:

Constable Yabren: "Deputy, you stop the mercenaries. I'll go after Carvain and Raxalee."

<Constable Yabren runs out the gates.>

Rowdy Tharden: "Let's get this over with."

Mercenary Adder: "I never did like law folk."

After Rowdy Tharden is killed:

Mercenary Adder: "You'll pay for that!"
