Valdr's Lucky Dagger

I found/earned Valdr's Lucky Dagger from this guy who lost his friends in a fight with a bear and some spriggan somewhere between Falkreath and Whiterun. Valdr's Lucky Dagger is a steel dagger with the special ability "25% chance of a critical hit" & as far as I can tell can't be unenchanted. I was hoping to find out more about it. I can't make a page since I don't have an account here but me and my dad use this site regularly and its been a big help. I think I've told others who play skyrim about this site as well. It would be really helpful if someone put up a page about this dagger. Thanks. ~Genuka — Unsigned comment by 74.46.211.232 (talk) at 04:17 on 24 August 2012 (UTC)

We already have the dagger documented. This dagger isn't that greatly important, so we can't justify it having its own article. When it comes to items, we prefer to cover only extremely important ones like artifacts with any depth. Also, thanks for supporting the site! We appreciate it! --AKB Talk Cont Mail 04:17, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Gunmar

A new NPC from the Dawnguard DLC, of interest because, despite being a Nord, he swears "by the Eight," thus not including Talos in his religion. What a weirdo. 71.237.110.92 18:11, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation page for Treasure Hunter

We need a disambig page for Skyrim:Treasure Hunter. Currently, if you type in "Treasure Hunter", you get redirected to the Lockpicking page, because of the perk of the same name. However, there is also an NPC called Treasure Hunter that has its own page (Treasure Hunter (npc)). If I knew how to create a disambig page, I would do it (assuming I have the rights, which I don't think I do). Thanks. --Xyzzy 04:03, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Done. I'm pretty sure that you can do that (it's just regularly editing a page), but I did it anyways. If you're curious, you can see how I did it here. • JATalk 04:12, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Ah ha! It's much simpler than I thought. Thanks, Jak! --Xyzzy 05:07, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:Skyrim for Oblivion Players

I noticed that Oblivion has a page that compares the game to Morrowind, so I thought an article comparing Skyrim to Oblivion would also be a nice addition to the Skyrim pages.

Please create a Sandbox for an example, This can quickly turn into a heavily-edited page, so a Sandbox is preferred until we are certain the page is up to standard. --Krusty 23:46, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
How do you create a sandbox? --Dark Lord 13:32, 15 January 2012‎ Dark Lord
I added a thing on the talk page for it on how to make the sand box. Also i dont have power to add the page. --warof7 18:52, 17 January 2012‎
I have begun the page in a sandbox. --Dark Lord 21:23, 17 January 2012

Oblivion:Count

There is a seperate page for jarl in skyrim, we should also make a seperate page for count in cyrodiil.(Vvardfell 05:02, 30 December 2011 (UTC))

If you think this page is needed, create it in a user sandbox (e.g., at User:Vvardfell/Sandbox). If you can put together a page that contains enough new (non-redundant) information to justify a new article, then we can move your sandbox into the Oblivion namespace. At the moment, however, it's not clear that any such page is needed. --NepheleTalk 08:41, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
A rough page has been created, see if anything that can be improved.(Vvardfell 12:41, 4 January 2012 (UTC))
I don't want to be the one to rain on your parade, but to put it bluntly; the grammar in that page makes it very difficult to understand. If you'll give me permission to edit your sandbox, I'll try to proof read it for you and make it more comprehensible. Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 12:47, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for poor grammar, i allow anyone to correct my sandbox.(Vvardfell 13:39, 4 January 2012 (UTC))

() I have moved you Sandbox to the appropriate page. elliot (talk) 19:34, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Lore:Garridan

This was already discussed months ago, but I don't think was ever acted upon Garridan (as in Garridan's Tears guy from oblivion). He has a history that was talked about being turned into a lore page. --Manic 18:54, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:Saarthal/walkthrough

There were 3 walkthroughs. There are/were many errors. There is already a requirement to avoid duplication and full support for subpage transclusion. I've already removed the worst duplication at Skyrim:Saarthal, and need to build a common subpage for the 2 quests (Forbidden Legend and Under Saarthal). Originally, I'd hoped to transclude Under Saarthal itself, but there is too much non-common header information for a useful noinclude section. I'm a very experienced Wikipedia editor (since 2003 under this name, 2005 under my RL name), but a complete novice at this game. If this page is built soon, I'll merge everything from existing content.
--DayDreamer 13:05, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

I don't see why a subpage is necessary, or why you removed walkthrough information from the main Saarthal page -- because that is exactly where I think the walkthrough content that you're proposing belongs. However, there is clearly an issue right now with the general question of how quest and place content needs to be organized. I've started a Community Portal discussion to try to resolve that issue. --NepheleTalk 18:47, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Withdrawn.

Skyrim:Secondary Locations

Many of the secondary locations in Skyrim are missing from this wiki, such as Darkwater Overhang or Riverside Bandit Camp. All these locations are in the official strategy guide and I believe should be included in this magnificent wiki. Just like radiant quests, they are small parts of the game play a much larger role. It would be great if someone high up would do this, but if not, I wouldn't mind doing it seeing how I have the guide right in front of me. Thanks. --◊Scythe◊ 23:55, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

I'm not suggesting copying it directly over, for that would interfere with these rules (which I just found) but more or less use as a guide to find the locations and then record what is found in game. A quick reply or permission to make one example page (Darkwater_Overhang) would be excellent. --◊Scythe◊ 05:01, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
What about the names of those locations, how where those derived? --Alfwyn 12:51, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
As I said, "All these locations are in the official strategy guide". The map includes not only dungeons, cities, forts, etc. but also all these secondary locations, which includes dragon burial grounds. Most would have to be checked out in person, but I think it is definitely worth it, even if we only had one page for all of them (although I believe that is not optimal).--◊Scythe◊ 19:16, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Can anybody take a look into this? If needed, I would be willing to make a page or two in a sandbox. This has been up for quite some time and these locations are quite important. --◊Scythe◊ 19:55, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Put something of a primary list together in a sandbox, then scout them out enough to fill a basic Place Summary out. Or go ask Nephele if there was a reason these weren't added? --kiz talkemail 20:00, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:Crime

I think that this may be a useful redirect for "steal"; "stealing" as both of these terms do not lead easily to information about the topic on a go search. It may be best to direct to the entire page rather than the "stolen items" section at present, because the overview on the page introduces stealing as an example of a crime. --Jreynolds2Talk E-mail 03:04, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:Skill Practice Target List

Could have a better title, but the idea is the same: Many skills (Destruction, Archery, One and Two handed, etc.) require that you actively harm targets in order to build them, while some others (Conjuration, Alteration, etc) require that you be in combat to level them up.

Currently a few potential targets for the player to use to safely level these skills up are provided on each skill page, but this is rather messy for two reasons:

First of all it gets rather large and messy when you include quest-specific or conditional targets (such as Ralof/Hadvar at the beginning of the game, Parthaanax before the quest to eliminate him, etc). However, if you simply remove mention of them and only keep the constant ones (Shadowmere or the Torture victims, though this could also be considered conditional since they both require that you join the dark brotherhood to get access to them.) in order to clean them up you're doing players a great disservice by removing USEFUL INFORMATION. So currently we're stuck between choosing either cluttering up skill pages with lots of targets, or leaving out info that many players would find extremely useful.

And that bring me to the second point: The fact that it's just plain tedious and redundant to have skill targets on all the skill pages, since they're pretty much all the same targets anyway.

So instead, I suggest solving both issues at onces by making a separate article that lists all* potential practice targets and is linked in those skill articles instead of having to clutter up each individual article with the same target lists.

  • All=Certain conditions of course. IE must be essential and must not attack/be able to attack you if attacked, does not incur a bounty, etc. --Rylasasin 16:54, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
I personally don't see any benefit to this page. elliot (talk) 19:33, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:NPC Powers

I think there should be a page for all of the npc/monster powers and abilities and their ids. With things like this on it: Abilities

In Game Name Spell ID In Game Description Notes
Ghost Ability 0010f5a7 +33 Resist Fire. +33 Weakness to Frost. You are cloaked in a aura of flames.
Ghost Ability 0005030b +1 Ghost Visuals You turn transparent and a ghostly blue.
Ghost Ability 000d2064 +1 Ghost Visuals Fire. +33 Resist Fire. +33 Weakness to Frost. You turn transparent and gain an aura of fire.
Ghost Ability 0006a157 +1 Ghost Visuals You turn transparent and a ghostly blue and gain a misty aura.
Ghost Ability 000d2056 +1 Ghost Visuals You turn transparent and a ghostly white and gain a misty aura.
Ghost Ability 000d339b +1 Ghost Visuals. +33 Weakness to Fire. +33 Resist Frost. You turn transparent and gain an aura of ice.
Ghost Ability 001034cc +1 Ghost Visuals You turn transparent and a ghostly purple.
Ghost Ability 000d339f +1 Ghost Visuals Storm You turn transparent and gain an aura of electricity.

Also on that page can be the npc abilities, npc powers, and possibly other npc effects that can be added with addspell. I expect there is a large number of such things in the game, but there is currently no real list of them.

It's not clear to me that such a page is the best way to handle this information. I think information about abilities only used by ghosts should be documented with the rest of the information about ghosts, and similarly for other such abilities and powers. --NepheleTalk 02:49, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:An Enemy's Gratitude

I noticed that Nephele created a blank quest page with this name, however, it was lowercase. I put the quest up for speedy deletion, but I'm not authorized to make new pages, so I propose that the content be moved from here to the new page. SkoomaManiac 14:23, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

The string found in the game data is "An enemy's gratitude". So if there is ever a change to the quest log that let us see those names, it'll be likely that capitalization. A search for "An Enemy's Gratitude" still finds the current page, so I see no reason to change that capitalization. --Alfwyn 18:02, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Redirects for names with apostrophes in them

There should be some redirect pages for names like J'zargo so if someone types "Jzargo" in the search tool, it will send him to the correct page. RedwoodElf

I think thats a lot of redirects for no clear reason, is some one unable to type apostrophes out? We've never done this for earlier games. I don't see a real need for them, one solution is to just a <!--Jzargo--> so it shows up in the search results? --kiz talkemail 21:58, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:Gjunkar's Monument

Every location should have its own page imo, I was gonna create this one, but it said no. By the way, it's southeast of Rorikstead, and south of the Whiterun Imperial Camp. - User:Deathoflaughter

It is already here. --Krusty 18:47, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim: Irngir

Irngir appears to be an NPC in Dawnstar, working at Iron-Breaker Mine, and whom also owns Skyrim:Irngir's House just to the left of Iron-Breaker mine. I've updated her house as best as I can, but cannot create the page for Irngir herself.

She already has a page; Skyrim:Irgnir. I added most of her basic NPC info to her page yesterday. Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 07:19, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Lore:Lamae Beolfag

I would like to request that this page be created as its a potential origin to vampires and a person that is mentioned in another lore page, i had tried to create the page but ended up doing so on the books section and so i would either like it moved to lore or a new page created with the information copied to it. Mr.Scryer. 18:13, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Done. I created as a redirect, found here. elliot (talk) 23:07, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:High Resolution Texture Pack

Since it's the first DLC for the game, we should have an article about it. I have a basic draft here, although there is information floating around on exactly what textures are changed and which ones fail to load due to errors on Bethesda's part. That could easily be incorporated into the article. --Dorsal Axe 18:01, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Done, Skyrim:High_Resolution_Texture_Pack. I'll let you add your content yourself. --kiz talkemail 20:45, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:Free Skill Boosts

This proposal is for a separate "Free Skill Boosts" page in the Skyrim namespace similar to this page in the Oblivion namespace. The information has been gathered from many articles scattered across the Skyrim pages, and put together in one central location by me. I added this section to the Skills page about a week ago when I did not know how to make a New Page Request, thinking that it was better to put it on an already existing page until I learned more. I have been the only one to make any edits whatsoever to that section of that page so far. I have since been working on improving on what I originally posted, in my Sandbox, and have added a much more detailed, thorough table, as well as everything else that should be added to the new page I'm requesting.

If this page is approved, I believe the following articles should include links to the page: Skyrim:Leveling (particularly this section) and Skyrim:Skills (assuming the 'Free Skill Boosts' section that I put there, is removed from that page when this page is created).

My draft of this page can be found here. I also added my concerns with my draft on the Talk page of my Sandbox, which notes what I think should be addressed or improved. Thanks. —Alphabetface 22:16, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Info is good, Sandbox looks good. Page created here. Good work! --Krusty 22:51, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! Should I remove that section from the Skills page? :) Alphabetface 22:53, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
I think so. Just make sure to add a big link to the new page!:) --Krusty 23:01, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:Gallus

Nightingale Sentinel, former leader of the Thieves Guild in Riften. There is an empty link here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Darkness_Returns — Unsigned comment by 77.102.214.28 (talk) at 05:47 on 19 February 2012

According to Gallus's Journal his full name is "Gallus Desidenius", which might be a better page title. But will there be enough content for a page about him? --Alfwyn 12:57, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
If he's not an NPC, it's not worth having a page for him in the Skyrim namespace. I think he makes an appearance as a Nightingale Sentinel, so any relevant info should go there. --Legoless 13:28, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

Lore:Normar Heights

Place not far from Northpoint (it was in Arena), where Emmeg Gro-Kayr son of Malacath was born Tashy

I don't see the need for this. Other than Emmeg Gro-Kayr being born there, is it notable for anything else? Robin Hoodtalk 06:47, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Is this a settlement or just a landmark near Northpoint? If it's a settlement, maybe a snippet and redirect would be appropriate, but if it's nothing more than some bluffs, I don't think it's significant enough to warrant anything more than a mention on the Northpoint page, and maybe a redirect there. Shadow Marks

I read a book by delvin mallory about shadows marks (located on the end table beside your bed in thieves guild). It describes a bunch of marks that are placed around indicating certain things (such as escape routes in jail). A page consisting of these marks locations would be helpful. — Unsigned comment by 75.106.164.203 (talk) at 22:31 on 11 March 2012

The text of the book itself already exists at Shadowmarks. Do you see a need for something further? Robin Hoodtalk 00:28, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
It looks like the person was asking for locations, which are already located here, though the list is incomplete. --Velyanthe 00:56, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim:Dungeons

Wondering if a Dungeon page should exist to outline what to expect in a dungeon , i.e. traps ,enemies ,some explication of different loot found in different types of dungeon. There is also a Dungeons page for Oblivion so there is precedent. Chimo. 02:42, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

There are dedicated articles for Skyrim specific traps, and containers for those who would like to help add content for them, but agree that a Dungeon page (and subsequent pages that list dungeons by type) would be handy. --Aphotic Phoenix 07:36, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
The scope for this page to be a real mess is huge. I'd like to see someone take it on in a sandbox and then move it to the right place, but frankly there's no point trying to do this until the CS/CK comes out because it'll be rubbish. Really. rpeh •TCE 02:28, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
So I started working on the dungeons page , just in a sandbox and was looking for a little feedback. I dont have the CS/CK to create any tables to detail chances of loot or anything though. Flood15/Sandbox. Chimo. 02:38, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
