Cirtiel, a traveling salesmer of the Zingamajig tribe

Cirtiel is a Wood Elf trader of the "Zingamajig" Ashlander tribe, found hawking her wares by the dock gate of Old Ebonheart. If pressed sufficiently, she will admit to slight embellishments about her person. Her tendency to 'spice' things up has irritated members of the Tribunal Temple enough that, during the events of Outlandish Heresy, you will be sent to curtail Cirtiel's most exotic tales about the Triune. She also features in the Stendarr Tower Haunting, as the seller of strange idols to individuals in town.

For protection, she wears a boiled netch leather cuirass, a boiled netch leather helm, a pair of chitin gauntlets, a pair of chitin boots, and a pair of chitin pauldrons. For clothing, she wears an expensive shirt and a pair of expensive pants. She carries a pair of common shoes, and the amulets and ingredients that she restocks as a merchant.

Aside from her natural resistance to disease, and the ability to command animals, she knows no spells.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Greetings:
"Greetings, my friend! I am Cirtiel, the traveling Wise-Woman. I can see you're quite the traveler yourself. May I interest you in miraculous talismans and trinkets of my people?"
"Greetings, my friend! May I interest you in miraculous talismans and trinkets of my people?"
  • my people:
"I belong to the native Ashlander tribe of Zingamajig. We are a proud people from the barren ashlands of the... Ashlands. I can tell you are a friend of the Zingamajig tribe, %PCName. As a token of mutual respect between our peoples, I will sell you powerful talismans for a special price."
(If Disposition ≥ 80 or your Intelligence is ≥ 85):
"What do you mean, drop the act? *sigh* Fine. I don't have anything to do with the Ashlanders. Couldn't even name a single bloody tribe, if I had to. But a gal's gotta earn her living, no? It's not like I'm hurting anyone. Just spicing up the old sales pitch with some magic mumbo-jumbo, y'know, leave the customers with a sense of wonder."

Tribunal Temple: Outlandish Heresy[edit]

  • outlandish heresy:
"Oh? I'm just using the Daedra and the Tribunal to spice up the old sales pitch. The sailors are just eating it up. What's the harm, really?"
  • You're spreading a skewed view of the Temple faith.:
"Well, maybe it's your Temple's fault for having such bizarre and confusing teachings in the first place. I mean -- what's the deal with the Daedra anyway? Are they good or bad?"
  • The Good Daedra are good, the Bad Daedra are bad.:
"Okay, gotcha. And which ones are the Good Daedra again? Just to make sure I won't make any heretical mistakes in the future..." (Also see "unwise to disrespect the Temple", "join the Temple", "don't have to explain", and "Offer a copy of The Anticipations" choices)
"Sheogorath? Isn't he the prince of madness? ... Look, buddy, obviously you have no idea what the true Temple teachings are either. Just leave me alone!" (Disposition -10)
  • They are Azura, Mephala and Boethiah.:
"I see... And what about the Tribunal? They're like the children of the three Good Daedra, right?"
  • Something like that, yes. / No, it's not like that.:
"Uh-huh. Well, this has been most enlightening."
  • You won't be spreading heresies anymore then?:
"I mean... you can't really expect me to remember all those things you just told me, can you? I'm bound to make errors anyway, so why even bother? I'm just a merchant, not a theologist!" (See "no harm", "unwise to disrespect the Temple", and "Offer a copy of The Anticipations" choices)
(If Disposition ≥ 75):
"You know what? I like you, %PCName, so I'm going to do what you ask. I won't be telling any more stories about the Good Daedra and the Tribunal. You have my word."
  • You're unwise to disrespect the Temple like that.:
"Come on. You'd think your living gods had a thicker skin..." (Also see "no harm" choice)
  • Do you know what the Ordinators do to blasphemers like you?:
"Ain't I lucky then that there aren't any Ordinators around here, huh? In case you haven't noticed it, we're in Old Ebonheart." (Disposition -5) (Also see "no harm" choice)
  • The Ordinators might not be here. But I am...:
"Ha. You're all talk. You wouldn't dare lay a finger on me. Get out of my face." (Disposition -10)
(If your Level ≥ 10):
"You... you wouldn't really hurt me? ... Look, will you leave me alone, if I promise that I won't be spreading any more false stories about the Daedra and the Tribunal? Please. I won't cross the Temple ever again. Here. Take this gold. A small donation to show my respect." (You receive 50 gold)
  • Do you think the Empire will stay in Morrowind forever? The Temple will get you eventually...:
"What have you been smoking? The Empire will never fall. Get out of my face." (Disposition -10)
(If Disposition ≥ 75):
"That's not a bad point you're making... Alright then, %PCName. I promise that I won't be spreading false stories about the Daedra and the Tribunal anymore. You can tell your masters at the Temple that I won't cross them ever again."
  • If you honestly want to learn the truth, you should join the Temple.:
"Thanks, but no thanks. Doesn't seem like my cup of sujamma. Now... if you're not going to buy anything, I'd like you to leave me alone."
  • I don't have to explain everything to you. I just need you to stop doing what you're doing.:
"Aren't you a smug one! Why should I appease the Temple, if you don't even tell me what I'm doing wrong?" (Disposition -10) (See "unwise to disrespect the Temple", "join the Temple", and "no harm" choices)
(If Disposition ≥ 75):
"Haha, aren't you smug! You know what, though? I like you, %PCName, so I'm going to do what you ask. I won't be telling any more stories about the Good Daedra and the Tribunal. You have my word."
(If you have a copy of The Anticipations):
  • [Offer Cirtiel a copy of 'The Anticipations'.]:
"Huh, that's helpful. I guess I'll have some truer tales to tell now! Thank you, %PCRace." (Removed The Anticipations from your inventory)
  • Well, I suppose there's no harm in that.:
"Yeah, that's what I thought."
(If you leave and talk to her again):
"This again? I told you that I won't be changing my sales pitch just because it makes the Temple uneasy." (See "skewed view" and "no harm" choices)
(After convincing her):
"I won't be telling any more stories about the Good Daedra and the Tribunal. You have my word."

Stendarr Tower Haunting[edit]

  • dark idols:
"What, the ash statues? They're harmless trinkets. I've been billing them as authentic Dark Elf artifacts to tourists. You know, to give them a chance to take a little piece of Morrowind back home with them."
  • They're anything but harmless. They seem to have strange effects on people. It would be a good business decision to stop selling them. / They're anything but harmless. I have encountered them before. They invoke nightmares and madness. It would be a good business decision to stop selling them.:
"Really? Honestly, between you and me, the statues creep me out a little, too. I've already made my money off of them. If I don't have any of the statues left to sell, I won't restock them. Now, what else can I do for you?"
  • Are there any more of these statues floating around Old Ebonheart?:
"Yes, as a matter of fact. I've sold a few to Imperials over in Ebon Tower. The castellan of the palace, Caros Cocceius, bought one. The current head honcho over at the resettlement office, Quercus Duro, bought one as well. And one of the guards at the castle bought one, too -- Votus Titonian, I believe. I still have two left, if you'd like to buy them."
  • So where did you get your supply from?:
"I bought my stock from the Pride of Narusia's shipmaster. I've no idea whether he has any more. The Pride is berthed at the docks just beyond here."
  • Oh, okay. So you're running a scam.:
"Scam is so harsh a word. I prefer to think of what I do as hospitality."
  • I'll take your word for it, then.:
"You honor me, sera. Can I interest you in any of my wares? All 100% Dunmer handcrafted!"
"You bought all of them, %PCClass."
"So those ash statues are now illegal. Imagine that. I hear you had a hand in that turn of events, %PCClass."

Wares[edit]

  • Negative numbers indicate restocking items.
  • Items in italics are equipped, and can be purchased if you sell her something better first. (If there is more than one, you may be able to purchase the others.)
