Two-Handed Axe + Shield?[edit]

I know I'm nitpicking but how is it Ysgramor is known for using a two-handed axe and yet uses a shield as well? Is he just that much of a badass that he got the Monkey Grip feat and uses a two-handed weapon in one hand? Bushwhacker 10:22, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Don't forget that he was also able to eat soup with a fork. Wolok gro-Barok 14:38, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Speed + Mass = Momentum :) Ever wonder how the Olympians toss big heavy balls and discus? THAT'S HOW YSGRAMOR WOULD WIELD WUUTHRAD. Now add his shield into the mix. :)
His grip would have to be twice as strong as those Olympians....which according to people who research Ancient Homo-Sapiens....was achievable.
So yeah, Ysgramor would be more bad-ass than Ajax and Odysseus...by alot. Theindividual 12:37, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
I think you meant Speed + Mass = Force, but yeah otherwise it's the same. I'm going to go with Wolok gro-Barok and just say that he could eat soup with a fork. • JATalk 07:33, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
Given that the climate of Skyrim is freezing cold, eating deep-frozen soup with a fork doesn't look like such a huge achievment. Other than that, legendary warriors are known for having their own weapon arsenal. Meaning, he did not use his battleaxe with his shield. He must have used the shield with one-handed weapons and probably had other two-handed weapons (spears, swords etc.) as well. I'm sure having more weapons than one is familiar to everyone playing Skyrim :). Besides, if he would've been such a prehistoric badass to use a two-handed axe with a shield, you bet the people would've depicted him (stories, books, statues etc.) wielding the two items at once. Still, Ysgramor was badass, sure :). Aran Mafre 09:33, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Momentum is Mass times Velocity (P=mv).
Speed + Mass = Speed + mass. You can't add speed and mass together, one is in units of speed and the other is in units of mass. Speed X Mass = momentum. Mass X Acceleration = Force. Change in Speed divided by Time = Acceleration. Jeez, Read a BOOK!

Shield size?[edit]

The Shield of Ysgramor is one of the largest shields; much larger than an ebony shield. Does the size of the shield affect the hit box for deflecting arrows? Just wondering because a larger hit box vs arrows would be an ok trade off for no smithing improvements. 174.7.121.1 03:37, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

No. There is no difference, there are no larger or smaller hit boxes. This is not Street Fighter :). Aran Mafre 09:33, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
