Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Kalin Thurion in the Five Fathoms Flophouse about turned into a vampire.
2. Confront Volanil in the Sailor's Fluke Fight Pit
3. Return to Kalin with a means of curing a Common Disease (potion or spell).
4. Cure the disease.

Detailed Walkthrough

The Five Fathoms Flophouse is one of Little Arenthia's many lodgings. Enter it, and you'll immediately find yourself facing a note on the door. The note reads:

DO NOT ENTER! ONLY TRAGEDY AND DEATH LIE BEHIND THIS DOOR!

A level 65 lock is on the door, so you'll need to bypass this with a pick or spell. You'll be greeted by Kalin Thurion on entering. He states that he has recently been turned into a vampire, and while still in control of himself, he fears that he could become violent at any moment.

Press him on turned into a vampire. Kalin 'll describe a recent night out with a High Elf, after which he woke up with a headache and spitting blood. He'll ask if you can track that High Elf down and force him to undo the curse. Agree, and he'll tell you to find Volanil at the Sailor's Fluke. This tavern overlooks the canal to the south of the flophouse. Enter and talk to publican Julius Volchar about find Volanil. He'll refer you to the fight pit downstairs.

Volanil is just by the side of the pit. Ask him about turned into a vampire. He'll tell you that while he is a vampire, he never turns anyone - and will suggest that Kalin just needs to see a healer instead.

Return to Kalin - you may as well stock up on a Potion of Cure Common Disease or other remedy before re-entering his apartment, but you can always go back out and fetch such. He'll concede that he could just be sick and will ask to be healed. Oblige, and he will reward you with his gold, and his favorite cup.

20		Volanil assured me that he did not turn Kalin into a vampire. He instead thinks that Kalin has a regular disease.
30		I have killed Volanil.
40		Kalin Thurion thanked me for finding the truth about his imagined vampirism, and asked me to cure his disease.
50	Finishes quest	Kalin Thurion thanked me for curing him. He rewarded me with some gold and his favorite drinking cup.
60	Finishes quest	Kalin Thuron told me to leave him alone after I killed Volanil without learning what he'd done to Kalin.
110	Finishes quest	Kalin Thurion is dead.
