Tham is a Redguard who owns the tavern in Sutch, and Maerenah's friend. He was one of the survivors of the Terrors' attack on the town.

Quest-Related Events

While helping Maerenah, you eventually find out Tham survived but was captured by the vampires and taken to their lair in Sutch Mine. In the mine, some of the vampires will taunt Maerenah, saying that Balandrus had turned Tham and turned him into her replacement.

When you reach Balandrus, you will find him holding Tham by the throat before throwing him to the ground. After you have slain Balandrus the Terror, you and Maerenah can leave Sutch Mine. Exiting the mine, you will find Tham and Maerenah at a small camp:

Tham: "Maerenah … what's happening to me, Maer?"

Maerenah whispers [sic]: "It will be all right, Tham. You'll be all right."

<Maerenah walks away from him.>

Maerenah: "Check on Tham, friend. I … I need a moment."

At Maerenah's request, you can talk to Tham:

"I feel … cold. My skin … it's pale. Please, tell me this isn't happening.
Tell me I'm not becoming … one of them."

You're safe and Balandrus is dead. That's all that matters.

"I … yes … you're right. You and Maer saved my life. Saved what's left of Sutch. Well, if Maerenah could survive being a vampire, then I can as well. Thank you for helping her.
Tell Maer … tell her I'm all right."

After you have completed the quest, you can talk to Tham at the small camp: ^{On a non-vampire character}

"I need to figure out what to do next. Do I learn to live with this curse or find a way to cure it, like Maer did? And what about the town? Do we abandon Sutch or try to rebuild
Too many questions and not enough answers. At least Maerenah's back."

Do you think you'll stay a vampire, or will you seek a cure like Maerenah did?

"I … I have no idea. I'm not even sure why I seem to be a full vampire while the rest of the townsfolk were turned into bloodfiends. I guess that's just another thing I need to talk to Maerenah about. She's got more experience with this than I do."

Will you remain in Sutch or move on?

"Another good question to which I have no answer. I love this town, but with most of the people gone, can Sutch even survive?
I suppose one of the first things I need to do is check on my tavern. See how much of my livelihood remains intact."

In Memory Of

If you helped out in Sutch, he and Maerenah will be guests at the party in Skingrad:

"I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure if I should even be here … but I wanted to show my support for everything you did for Maerenah. And me. And, apparently, all of West Weald!
We're a long way from Sutch, eh?"

Have you decided to remain a vampire, Tham?

"I think so. Maybe? I don't really know. Frankly, it's a big decision and the cure is hard to come by, but if I can keep my bloodlust in check ….
I'll help Maerenah get Sutch back on its feet. Reopen the tavern. After that? We'll just have to see."
