A Family Divided[edit]

Just inside the entrance to the Forgotten Crypts, you'll find a desperate Dunmer:

"What? Who's there?"

After startling her, she is looking for her husband:

"Oh! You startled me!
You look a capable type. Are you a sellsword? I need someone to help me get past the barricade inside the crypts."
Who builds a barricade in a crypt?
"Refugees from Narsis. We came here to escape the plague, but were set upon by highwaymen. I was separated from my group, and my husband.
Please, I must find Garil, but the half-wit at the barricade won't let me through!"
They'll let us through, or we'll find a way around!
"Almalexia bless you! I'll follow your lead, but I'm afraid I'm not very good in a fight."
These crypts could be dangerous. Stay close!

If you speak to her again, she'll elaborate:

"We must keep moving. The sooner we find Garil, the better."
What are you doing?
"I'm sorry. It's the cinnamon-scented perfume I wear."
Cinnamon perfume?
"It was Garil's favorite. I may have overdone it today."

If you're about to exit the crypts, she will say:

Sela: "I can't leave the Crypts until I find my husband!"

When you approach the camp's barricade, Sela will try to talk to Danus on the other side.

Danus: "Go away! If you're infected, you'll kill us all!"
Sela: "We're not infected, you idiot! I'm trying to find my husband!"
Danus: "I don't care if you're looking for Nerevar. You're not getting in here."
Sela: "This is getting us nowhere. There's got to be another entrance through the crypts."

As you approach the Refugee Camp door, she'll exclaim:

Sela: "Look, my husband's bow! He's been here. We must get past that door!"

Speaking to her before you solve the puzzle:

"This looks like a back entrance, but it's bolted shut. I think these items around the door frame are part of a puzzle lock. Look around. Maybe there's a clue to the right sequence nearby."

Read the Smuggler's Note nearby. If you try to solve the puzzle and get it wrong you'll be knocked back and poisoned:

Sela: "Are you all right? It looks like whoever built this put in a small trap. It doesn't look fatal, though."

Either solve the puzzle or intimidate your way into the camp. Speak to her and she'll express concern:

"I don't see my husband anywhere. This doesn't feel right."
I'll look around and let you know if it's safe.
"Something feels wrong here, but I can't put my finger on it."

Speaking to her again before the refugees:

"Be careful. Something's not right, here."

Speak to Danus and some of the refugees and return to Sela:

"I don't understand. None of the refugees will answer my questions. It's like they're hiding something."
Your husband isn't here.

After informing her that her husband isn't here, you will have to decide whether it be best for Sela to stay in the camp or leave the crypts due to a bad feeling:

"What? But we saw his bow."
Danus said he was infected and had to be banished.
"That's preposterous! He was fine when we were separated!
Please, you must find him! Search the crypts. I'll keep questioning the others. Someone must know what Danus is playing at."
You'll be safe here. I'll find your husband.
"I'll stay here until you return, but please, hurry!"
You're not safe here. Get out now.
"You're probably right. This place doesn't feel right.
I'll be outside, waiting for news of my husband. Please hurry!"
I need more time to investigate. Stay here.
"Very well."

If you return back to her to decide whether she should stay or leave:

"Is it safe? Did you find my husband?" (Leads to choices)

If you decided she should stay and you left the conversation before turning in the quest, she will say:

"Is it safe? Did you find my husband?"
You should be safe here. I'll find your husband. (Leads to quest completion dialogue)

If you decided she should leave and you left the conversation before turning in the quest, she will say:

"Is it safe? Did you find my husband?"
It's not safe here. You should get out now. (Leads to quest completion dialogue)

A Bitter Pill[edit]

If you have not start the quest yet, she will say:

"Ready to begin?"

Speaking to her to start the quest:

"We still aren't any closer to finding my husband"
I'll search the crypts. (Leads to quest dialogue)

Otherwise continuing on the previous conversation of finding her husband:

"I hate the thought of Garil wandering through those godsforsaken chambers all alone."
You may not like what I find.
"I understand. But if there's even a chance …."
If he's alive, I'll find him.

Speak to her before leaving the camp and she'll only ask:

"Have you found anything?"

If you told her to stay at the camp, the people inhabiting the camp will eat her.

If you told her to leave the crypt, she will be fine, and you can find her on a bridge south of the crypts.

"Have you found anything?"
Garil is dead.
Destroyed "strange meat"
Spared the refugees
"I know. Ever since that bandit raid that separated us, I knew.
But I must thank you, sera. You helped me persue my foolish hope, even at your own risk. You let me forget what I already knew. I had seen my Garil for the last time."
"It's true, then. He's gone forever. I didn't want to believe it.
I'd have never known the truth if it weren't for you. Wherever he rests in the world beyond this one, he rests peacefully. Thank you."

Speaking to her on the bridge outside the crypt after the quest:

"I'm so very tired."
