Quest-Related Events[edit]
If you haven't started the quest and you approach her on the porch of the Miners' Lodge:
- "Look! A stranger approaches, this may be the chance we're hoping for."
You will find out the Stormfists have taken over the mine and kept the miners as hostages:
- "You picked a bad time to visit the Lost Knife Mine, stranger."
If you found the note from the body of Kerig, she is unaware her messenger is dead:
- I found this note on a dead miner.
- "Oh, no! I hoped Kerig made it to Fort Amol.
Orcthane Fildgor's troops have taken over the mine. Half of us were sent to work in the mine and serve as hostages. The other half wait out here and worry. My family's in there right now!" - That's terrible. What can I do to help?
If you're starting the quest with her, you can ask:
- Has something happened?
- "The Orcthane Fildgor … his troops have commandeered the mine and taken our ore.
They force half of us to work and serve as hostages. Then at the end of the shift, they take our tools and keep the ore. My family is down there right now." - Maybe I can help.
Regardless how you start the quest, she'll need the miners to be armed as the foreman, her husband is being taken hostage alongside her siblings:
- "We need weapons. Overpower a few Stormfists, grab their weapons, and give them to my husband, Jomund. He's in the mine.
And set some of the miners free along the way. Look for my siblings, Tridi and Nedrek. I need to know they're safe." - I'll head into the mine and do what I can.
Asking her further questions about the mine:
- "Tridi, Nedrek, and the others work in the main chamber, down the east tunnel. That's where the ore is.
Avoid the west tunnel, though. It's full of trolls, and they're worse than the Orcthane's thugs!" - Why is Fildgor interested in this mine?
- "You must understand, we support King Jorunn. We're loyal to the Skald-King.
We refused to deal with Fildgor's agent. That didn't go over so well. He needs ore to craft more weapons, so his thugs barged in and seized the mine." - What's Jomund doing in the mine?
- "Anything he can. He promised he would be careful. He's very clever, but I worry.
He's the foreman. He feels responsible for the miners."
- "Anything he can. He promised he would be careful. He's very clever, but I worry.
- Why didn't you just flee when the Stormfist soldiers arrived?
- "The Stormfists are crafty. They put relatives on different work crews. They'll hold workers as hostages while their families rest, then switch and do it all over again.
I don't want my family harmed. I need to be here when the shift changes."

- Tell me about the mine.

Speaking to her again:
- "With your help, I know we can succeed."
After collecting the Stormfist weapons and speaking to her siblings, if you return to her before finding her husband:
- "Is there something else I can tell you?"
After the quest:
- "Thank you for helping us."
