The Clockwork Criterion is a Factotum that serves as the boss of the group event at Nchuthnkarst. It is in the easternmost hall.

There is a chance to acquire the antiquity lead for the Dwemer Crown by defeating and looting this boss.

Skills and Abilities[edit]

Homing Shock
Clockwork Criterion's basic attack. It flicks its staff forward, creating shock bolts that instantly home in on targets nearby, dealing very high shock damage.
Arcing Bolts
Clockwork Criterion channels spell that sends out three lightning bolts forward, shown as red circles, dealing moderate shock damage each. This can be interrupted.
Lightning Strike
Clockwork Criterion raises its hand, causing several lightning strikes to occur near its target, shown as small red circles, dealing high shock damage each.
Shocking Smash
Clockwork Criterion twirls its staff around and performs an overhead strike with it, dealing very high physical, which then sends out five shock orbs on the ground outward in different directions, dealing high shock damage. This can be blocked, but won't prevent the orbs from spawning.
Simulacra Shock Wave
Clockwork Criterion readies up before spinning around with its staff empowered, releasing a powerful shockwave, shown as a wide red cone, dealing massive shock damage.

Just before entering its immune phase, Clockwork Criterion releases a shockwave, shown as a red growing circle around it, dealing moderate shock damage and staggering.

Invulnerable Phases[edit]

When Clockwork Criterion reaches around 75% health, it will run to the center of the arena and place a ward around itself, rendering it invulnerable for a minute.

During that time, automatons will materialize as well as emerge from ports in the walls, which consist of: Dwarven Arquebuses, Dwarven Spheres, Dwarven Spiders, Beetle Fabricants, Nix-Hound Fabricants and Verminous Fabricants.

This warding phase has three cyles. Note that the wandering spheres and spiders described below aren't actual targettable NPCs and cannot be destroyed directly without triggering their detonation.

The first involves three dwarven spheres ambulating around the Criterion with shock AoEs laid under them. Stepping into the AoE detonates them, dealing damage and stunning targets nearby. During that time, a stronger Factotum Charger activates and joins the fight.

The second cycle has Firepot Spiders walking around the Criterion with flame AoEs laid under them. Similarly, stepping into the AoE detonates the spider, stunning and causing a lingering pool of flame to appear, dealing continuous damage. During that time, a stronger Factotum Expurgator activates and joins the fight.

The third cycle has a mix of both shock spheres and flaming spiders, and a stronger Factotum Sanitizer activates and joins the fight.

When Clockwork Criterion reaches around 25% health, it wards again, though not as long as the first immune, and summons headless Ruined Factotums, which slowly walk over to the boss and become charged up by the ward. Once charged, they rush at targets and detonate, shown by growing red circles, dealing high shock damage and knocking back.
