Cirthan

Cirthan is a Wood Elf who can be encountered in Ontus talking with his husband Azemad about recent events. He will have found work at the local quarry, while Azemad works at the ranch.

Dialogue

Before the Ontus Objective is completed:

Azemad: "Why did we leave Hammerfell, Cirthan?"

Cirthan: "You know why we left, my love."

Azemad: "But all we found here was hard work and terrible sickness."

Cirthan: "Hard work is the same all over, and the illness will pass."

Speaking with him afterwards:

"We came here to start over, but Azemad labors on the ranch while I am forced to work in the quarry. They work us so hard, it is no wonder people are getting sick."

They will also have the following conversation after events of the quest Seeds of Suspicion:

Cirthan: "I haven't lived among the Tree Folk for some time, but I can't believe the latest rumors."

Azemad: "True or not, it does not matter. You are not one of them, Cirthan."

Cirthan: "It matters to the other quarriers, my love. And to the ranch hands."

Azemad: "We should not care what they think. And we should not care what happens in the new forest."

Speaking with him afterwards:

"A passing traveler says the Wood Elves in the new forest are evil. That their king leads a violent cult that seeks to turn the entire Weald into jungle.
If this is true, I'm ashamed to call myself Bosmer."

After the Ontus Objective is completed:

Cirthan: "Did you hear, my love? Constable Yabren and the new deputy saved Ontus!"

Azemad: "Yes! And I heard Carvain and Raxalee were sent to the count's dungeons!"

Cirthan: "The dungeons? They should face an executioner's ax for what they did!"

Azemad: "I just hope this is the start of better things for Ontus."

Speaking with him afterwards:

"You are the deputy? The outsider who helped Constable Yabren bring justice to Ontus? Whatever she paid you, it wasn't enough for saving us from fatigue fever."

After completing the Recollection of Ithelia storyline, they will talk about the defeat of the Recollection:

Azemad: "The news out of Skingrad is wonderful! The Recollection has been defeated!"

Cirthan: "Even better, the count and the greenspeaker are talking. Peace with the Wood Elves would be an excellent thing."

Azemad: "I am just glad that conditions at the ranch have improved."

Cirthan: "Same at the quarry. Things are finally looking up for us, my love."

Azemad: "I hope so, Cirthan. I hope so."

Speaking with him afterwards:

"Are the roads safe to travel again? We heard that the Recollection cult has been defeated. Even the Daedra that were rampaging through the wilderness are in retreat. Whoever is responsible for these miracles, we owe them a debt we can never repay."
