Umbra' Keth
"I, the shadow of conflict, welcome the soul of conflict. For with your soul, I shall be complete."
—Umbra' Keth

The Umbra' Keth, or Shadow of Conflict, was an entity that was created by the conflict of the War of the Bend'r-mahk, and was sought by the Imperial Battlemage of Tamriel, Jagar Tharn, and the shadowmage Pergan Asuul for their own ends. Its physical appearance can be described as a tall, bipedal, grey skinned, tentacled creature with a trunk like a mammoth and orange webbed feet.[1]

The Umbra' Keth demonstrated an intriguing level of intelligence and was capable of speech via corpses, with it habitually referring to itself as the Shadow of Conflict. The initial residence of the Umbra' Keth was behind a Shadow Gate in the Twilight Temple, situated in Hammerfell, where it was sustained by Pergan Asuul. In this locale, it displayed an immobile, statue-like demeanour, appearing to be carved from stone.[2] In essence, the Umbra' Keth was an entity composed of malleable shadow and had not yet reached its full potential, as it required additional conflict to brew in the Western Reach for complete manifestation. Following sufficient accumulation of bloodshed, it took up residence in the Crypt of Hearts.[3]

Standing in stark opposition to the Umbra' Keth was the Soul of Conflict. This brave hero, under the guidance of the two Shadow Mages, Azra Nightwielder and Skelos Undriel, confronted the Umbra' Keth. Wielding the legendary Star Teeth, the hero successfully vanquished the Umbra' Keth, dispersing its shadowy form.[4]
