Welcome[edit]
Hello Minimang! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup
- Getting Started: how you can help
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our Patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox and don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors if you need any help. Volthawk 17:55, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Enchanted Pages[edit]
Thanks for your contributions; however, I still feel that categories would be best to accomplish what you are trying to do. Having the pages is unnecessarily redundant, and the categories can be linked to on multiple pages, with readers being able to quickly find what they need. –Elliot talk 00:48, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Enchanted Items Pages[edit]
Hi Minimang :). I know you're putting a lot of work into your enchanted items pages, but we would appreciate it if you would please stop creating new articles in the Oblivion namespace until the community reaches a consensus at the Community Portal discussion. It's important for us to make decisions as a community and to respect the decisions as the community makes them. So for now, if you'd like to keep working on the pages, please create them as sandbox pages in your own space (ie: User:Minimang/Sandbox). Thanks! –Eshetalk 20:17, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Can you not do anything with this matter until it is closed? It would be best to wait until a consensus is reached to continue adding apparel (because I am fairly certain that even if we do do it that way, it will be different; so it will be easiest if we won't have to go back to fix them). So please, just wait a little. –Elliot talk 21:47, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- k Elliot. I will hold off doing what I've been doing, until we reach consensus. Because I've already started editting the effect pages, should I delete the additions I've made or keep them? Deleting = symmetry which is good. --Minimang 21:59, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
Dammit I was gone for too long[edit]
My original issues: 1. Users searching for apparel would want to look for either Effect, or by Body Part, so they can plot their characters' equipment.
2. Apparel links on effect pages link only to Generic Magic Apparel, not all apparel with said effect
3. Apparel listed on too many pages. If they were all in some random category, and under http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Items you could put a little link to the category page, it would be fine, so someone could look everywhere for what they need.
also why must an item be listed under "Artifacts" and not also unique? Leveled rewards I understand to have their own special page, as it is implied that they are unique. Artifacts are unique as well, but why not still list them under that one "Unique Items" page? meh
p.s. I just got the PC version of Oblivion. Any fun little console-only items to use? (I did the psb console command and had a whole lotta fun)..--Minimang 06:07, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- I moved the above discussion from the archive page you placed it on, firstly because it's an archive page and shouldn't be edited, but more to the point, because very few people are likely to have noticed it there. If you feel these issues still need to be addressed, I'd suggest bringing it back up on the Community Portal. ‒ Robin Hood↝Talk 20:51, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
