Companions Radiant Quests[edit]
I noticed you've filled out some of the Companions quests, particularly Aela's Silver Hand ones. I just want to make sure - are you certain that you got the assassination quest AFTER the stealing plans quest? I've been going through those quests myself, and I got them in the opposite order (assassination first, then plans). Also, they are both Radiant quests, meaning the target locations are chosen programatically from a list of possible places, which means we can't really provide location-specific walkthroughs for them, unfortunately. Thanks for helping to clear this up. -- Hargrimm | Θ 02:13, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- Hey Hargrimm! Yes, to confirm, that's the order I obtained the quests. I think I remember the wiki pages on that series of quests having, at the time, some quests in different order. I'm not sure if this is due to the Radiance of the quests or not, but there seemed to be some variability involved. eg: (again, if memory serves me right) someone mentioned "now you have to do 3 of the Radiant quests for the companions", but there were only 2 offered to me, whereas I think I had already gone through one of those listed as Radiant Quest for the Companions.. yeah, Radiant is still confusing. Anyways, HTH, and feel free to let me know if I can help - I'll drop you a line on your talk page since I don't know if you'll be notified of this answer here ;) Krag 02:34, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Explorer's Guide to Skyrim in Fort Neugrad[edit]
I can only find two copies of it, one in Fort Neugrad itself and one in the prison. Specifically I can't find the copy in the "library" (the room where Jornibret's Last Dance is found on a central table). I can only see two copies in the game data too. --Alfwyn 14:33, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- Lucky me I had a save game from last night so I could do a quick check: as you walk down the stairs into the library room, the first shelf on your left (SE direction) should have a copy of the Explorer Guide, right under a copy of Rising Thread, vol. I - that being said, I haven't setup anything to check the data files (waiting for the toolset to be released officially), so I won't disagree with any changes you feel should be made in this regard: your data file argument must be stronger than my play-through experience (could some of these books be set randomly at runtime as you enter the cell, for instance?). HTH and let me know if I can help, Krag 15:04, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

- Thank you, that location helped. It seems to be indeed random. I entered the location twice with a character from an old save, once it was The Oblivion Crisis under The Real Barenziah, v4 and the other time Thief of Virtue under Harvesting Frostbite Spider Venom. The problem with game data right now is, that it isn't understood completely, so I don't trust it too much without some ingame checking. Using your directions and the console, I could identify the two books having ID 0x00109598 and 0x00109599 - you can look those up using clslist and they show up as DummyBook, which is probably another way to say random. A bit annoying that not only chest contents can be random, but books in plain sight too. --Alfwyn 22:23, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

- Sweet, thanks for the explanation on the game data, the link to clslist, and fixing the Fort Nuegrad page. I'd love to help more with the game data analysis, but I am so short on time atm. Hopefully by the time the toolset is out I'll be able to double- and triple-check the info before updating the wiki, and avoid creating more work for everyone else. Thanks again for catching this one, Krag 00:52, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
