Welcome[edit]
Hello JCsquared! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Help Contents: a list of in-depth Help pages
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup
- Getting Started: how you can help
If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! —The Silencer speaksTalk 19:56, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
Please use "Show preview" button[edit]
Please use the show preview button when editing a page. You made a large number of edits to the First Time Players page, most of which are worthwhile but editing the page multiple times clutters up the history and makes it harder for edit to be checked. --Anil 14:23, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Ok, so should i have made the edits all at once?
- I personally don't think this posting to you was warranted. Usually, you would see this if you were saving an edit, then resaving it again after making minor corrections to your own changes. Your changes were all to different sections of the page. I think the editor who posted that just saw the large number of edits to the same article within a short time period. If you can combine them into a smaller number of edits, it would be okay, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. --Xyzzy 19:48, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- Ahhhh i see thanks for pointing that out, i'm new to the wiki so i'm still learning this kind of stuffJCsquared 21:13, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- However, if you are planning on editing multiple sections of a page, it is a good idea to make all the changes in one edit to the entire page. One or two sections, not a problem. Seven sections, and the Recent Changes gets a bit cluttered and the page history is awkward. Vely►Talk►Email 21:48, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

US English[edit]
I am afraid we have to use US English here to be consistent, even if I personally prefer British English myself. —MortenOSlash (talk) 20:49, 26 December 2012 (GMT)
- I'm going to be lazy and quote the wiki's spelling guide, "Dialogue, Dialog: "Dialog" is primarily a US spelling, but is also acceptable in international English. Either spelling is acceptable on the site. There should be no need to correct either spelling of this word, except to provide consistency within a single article." - So, in short, both I and JCsquared (and Skyrimplayer after that) were wrong in editing what was there before. I just found the spelling guide's advice after Skyrimplayer removed my removal of JCsquared's version. —MortenOSlash (talk) 05:40, 27 December 2012 (GMT)
