- I have to agree, I've seen your recent work and it's great that Morrowind is getting some well needed edits. Which reminds me of another Morrowind page I've been needing to make. Anyway, please stick around! -- Jplatinum16 02:18, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
Your task... should you choose to accept it[edit]
The question of why certain places intervene divinely to locations where they are not expected is one that has been around for some time. Any ideas? You've been doing such good research elsewhere that I thought I ought to ask you about this one! rpeh •T•C•E• 23:51, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- I remember seeing that question. Maybe I will poke around Telasero and see where Divine Intervention takes you. --Brf 00:24, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
-
- Hmmmm..... The Divine map seems to be totally wrong near Malog Mar. The road leading West from Malog Mar is solidly in the yellow Pelagiad section, but it is actually the border between Wolverine Hall and Ebonhart. The map-crease runs right down the middle of that road. The North lane of the road goes to Wolverine Hall and the South lane goes to Ebonhart. --Brf 01:06, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
-
-
- Well. I finished mapping the Pelagiad Divine Intervention map this morning. It looks to me as if the cells that go to each fort were chosen arbitrarily. I took actual straight-line measurements, as well as simplified grid-diagonal measurements, and neither adds up. There are cells along both the Ebonhart and Moonmoth borders that should certainly go the other way if the shortest distance was actually considered. --Brf 02:02, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
- While I was mapping Ebonheart I had an inspiration. I think I figured out the distance question. At least it explains the boundary of Pelagiad with Moonmoth and Ebonheart. Distance is measured as the greatest distance X or Y, not a function of the two. Therefore the eight cells surrounding a cell, are all a distance of "1", including the four diagonal cells. The 16 cells in a square around those cells have a distance of "2". If a cell is the same "distance" from two destinations, it goes to the southernmost one. I am pretty sure this explains the entire Pelagiad boundary. --Brf 15:00, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Test[edit]
Since you are online right now (I watch Recent Changes), can you check this? and tell me your opinion? --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to me • My work • 13:37, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- I find that type of "test" to be pretty boring. I have seen so many like it. I actually only read the first couple questions and that was enough to show me that it was pretty much the same as all of the others I have seen. --Brf 13:40, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

- Any ideas of how to spice it up a bit? --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to me • My work • 13:41, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Just Wanted To Let You Know...[edit]
That I changed the quest header to template so that it reads (for example) Sugar-Lips Habasi in Balmora, rather than Sugar-Lips Habasi at Balmora.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 14:46, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Cool. Either "in" or "at" sounds fine to me for someone being in a town. --Brf 14:55, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Patroller Nomination[edit]
It's not clear if you're aware of it or not, so just to make sure you are, you've been nominated as a Patroller. If you're interested, you can indicate your acceptance there. If not, simply decline and it'll be removed. – Robin Hood↝talk 15:58, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I will have to read-up on the Patroller Guildlines then. --Brf 16:55, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks![edit]
Hey there. Thank you for being honest regarding your "forced" Patroller nomination. I just archived it and made sure that none of the rules will affect you if you ever want to be a Patroller on the site. Keep up the (very) good work and thanks again. --Krusty 19:33, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thank You. I was not sure I was ready to take on official duties at another website anyway. When I am not tinkering here, I am doing support at the phpbb support website. --Brf 19:47, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Have You Thought About Becoming A UP?[edit]
I think that while you've decided that you don't want to be a patroller you definitely fit the requirements for a UP. Also I'm proposing a new group on the CP. Let me know what you think!--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 15:57, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Well I probably would have the same problem with that as a regular patroller, that I am not familiar enough with UESP policy to try to enforce it, and that I am not sure I would have the time to devote to an official task. --Brf 16:06, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
-
- Hmm. Well if you're not familiar enough with policy it can also be used to make all edits in userspace patrolled. Also patroller rights are not a "quota" where if you don't patrol X number of edits daily/weekly/monthly you lose them. It's also nice for the allnamespacepatrol that comes with it.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 16:09, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Nerevarine Quest Givers[edit]
I see you've changed the giver for the Ahemmusa Nerevarine quest for consistency... but while I applaud the intent, I don't agree with the outcome.
You have to talk to somebody in each camp to get the Nerevarine quest - they aren't given by Nibani Maesa (unless memory deals me a dodgy card). Shouldn't we fix the other quests rather than adding to the wrongness? rpeh •T•C•E• 21:43, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
- You are correct there, and I was thinking it was Sul Matel that had the "Camp" subjects, not Nibani Maesa anyway. Tonight I will check and see just exactly what activates those quests in the log. --Brf 22:34, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
-
- Yup. Sul-Matuul is the one that marks the camps on your map, but he does not activate the Nerevarine Quests, other than the Ahemmusa one. --Brf 22:49, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
-
-
- No. That is not right either. In the save-game I am checking now, Sul-Matuul has not given me the "camp" topics yet, but they are already marked on my map. Hmmm... it is not required to do the Urshilaku Nerevarine first. I went straight from the Cavern to the Zainab and I was able to activate the Zainab Nerevarine quest. --Brf 23:48, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
- There are several people who can add the camps to your map. Radd Hard-Heart, Crassus Curio, Nibani Maesa, Scouts, Savants, Hunters and more can mark Erabenimsun Camp. Nibani Maesa, Scouts, Savants, Hunters and Farmers can mark Ahemmusa Camp. Turedus Talanian, Persius Mercius, Artisa Arelas, Edryno Arethi, Nibani Maesa, Savants, Scouts and Hunters can mark Zainab Camp. rpeh •T•C•E• 08:14, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
-
-
- Cool. I remembered them being added by a scout or something. I did not think Nibani Maesa could add them though. She never gets the ____ Camp topic, other than for her own, while Sul-Matuul gets them all. In previous games, I remembered him adding them. --Brf 12:46, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

-
- I got that list by looking through all the dialogue options in the game file for things that used the ShowMap command. It's possible that a response is defined for Nibani but that she can never reach it because she never gets the topic - that needs ingame testing. rpeh •T•C•E• 12:59, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Zelay[edit]
Are you sure that's Zelay you just uploaded? In-game, Zelay seems to have the red banded armour (whatever that is) that was in Eshe's version of the file. – Robin Hood↝talk 00:24, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. I am 100% positive. I noticed he was not wearing the same armor that was in the first picture, so I turned back on the menus and checked him again to make sure. I will reload the game and snap him with menus on --Brf 02:00, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
-
- Okay, well, now I'm exceedingly confused. (See above.) PS, by "menus", did you mean the console, or is there some other way to get the labels? I'm still new to MW. – Robin Hood↝talk 02:50, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
-
- Thanks the gods for the Construction Set. Zelay wears a random set of chitin armor. Loading the game several times, I got a different appearance each time, one of which matched yours. – Robin Hood↝talk 03:03, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
-
-
- I meant "tm" in the console. When you toggle-menus, it also turns off the labels. So I took the second picture with the menus on, so the name label showed. --Brf 03:15, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism[edit]
Careful when describing edits as vandalism as you did here. Assuming Good Faith is important, and it's more likely that the editor simply isn't aware of our spelling policy. I know I made several edits like that when I was starting out. rpeh •T•C•E• 11:18, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yup. I saw that myself after I corrected the spelling back to English. I am sure the user in question was just changing the spelling to British in good-faith. --Brf 16:45, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
Daedra Skin[edit]
I see you've added several {{UMP}} tags related to Menta Na dropping Daedra Skin... but exactly what is the bug that gets fixed? Does Menta Na no longer drop the skin, or do more creatures drop it? I can't see anything on the various threads describing the patch. Could you add a little explanatory note, something like this:
- This bug is fixed by the Morrowind Patch Project. Menta Na now gives you the address of a trader selling Daedra Skins by the dozen
It'd make things a little clearer. Thanks! rpeh •T•C•E• 16:55, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- The patch allows the rest of the Daedra to drop Daedra Skin. --Brf 16:57, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Trendrus Drals[edit]
He really is called "Trendrus Drals", with the "s" - I checked in GotY and vanilla. If you think that's a bad mistake, don't forget Dravasa Andrethi's! rpeh •T•C•E• 21:38, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- Really? I noticed because the map was linking back to Trendrus Dral, so I assumed it was a typo. How about Hleras Gidran, who lives in Hleras Gidren's house? --Brf 21:43, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
-
- Definitely Hleras Gidran. I'd be surprised if you found a mistake in the NPC names. Several people (me included) did exports straight from the CS to make sure they were all present and correct. Ditto, the house names. The only problems will be in links between the online map and the wiki - as you've already discovered. Of course, there still could be problems elsewhere but in general if you find an inconsistency it's more likely to be present in the game too. rpeh •T•C•E• 22:15, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
-
-
- That is what I figured with Gidran/Gidren, so I was going to put it on my list to check in-game tonight. I will get you a list of bad map Wiki links once I have a chance to do some more cities later tonight. --Brf 22:20, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Patroller Nomination Again[edit]
If you've had time to mull this over, would you like me to nominate you for the position of Patroller? Honestly, a lack of experience outside Morrowind is not an issue - you just patrol what you know. I'm personally well past the point where I feel all your edits have to be checked - a cursory glance is all I give now. Don't worry if you don't feel you can spend much time either as a) any time at all is valuable, and b) it'll mean your own edits are patrolled, which will take some of my workload away! rpeh •T•C•E• 16:50, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- I suppose I would be OK as a Morrowind patroller. I am not so sure I am clear about how Talk and User are patrolled though. --Brf 16:54, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
-
- With talk pages, one generally marks a post as patrolled if you answer it, or if it requires no answer. User stuff can be left to the userspace patrollers, but usually everything gets patrolled unless it violates a policy in some way (obscene, insulting, spamming etc). So are you up for it? rpeh •T•C•E• 17:17, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
-
-
- Like on the talk pages, I see the patrollers removing replies to "old" topics. How are those determined? I assume I did the right thing in the one I just did, where there was a reply in an Archive. I guess that is about the only question I have at the moment. Otherwise I think I am OK with Morrowind patrolling. --Brf 17:37, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
- It tends to be something of a judgement call. "Me too" or other posts that don't add to a a debate that's been over for months should generally be deleted. If a reply to an old topic asks a related question, or introduces new information, it's generally advisable to move it into a new topic at the end of the talk page and link back to the previous one. Again, though, if there's something you're not quite sure how to handle, leave it unpatrolled and somebody else will take care of it. rpeh •T•C•E• 17:44, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Jewellery/Jewelery/Jewelry[edit]
Weird... my browser spill chucker said that "Jewelery" was the correct US spelling, but it seems to be the only thing that thinks that way. Thanks for spotting it. rpeh •T•C•E• 17:30, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
- My browser checker says jewelery is correct too. I remember spelling it once incorrectly that way too and someone corrected it. That word is mentioned specifically on UESP:spelling --Brf 17:41, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
House / Loc[edit]
I'm not sure why you changed "house" to "loc" on the Tel Uvirith NPC pages. The house option is there specifically for NPCs who own a home, so it seems more appropriate in those cases. rpeh •T•C•E• 13:33, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- It was because of the NPC Data template. If you use "loc=", rather than "house=", then the location shows up in the tables using NPC Data. Remember I asked about that yesterday? Otherwise, you need to repeat the location anytime that NPC shows up in a table using NPC Data. Another thought... what happens if both loc= and house= are filled in? I can see where the NPC might normally be wandering around outside, so their loc and house are different.... --Brf 14:36, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
-
- Yes, but I remember advising that using skipLocation=yes and adding the location manually was the way to go for the moment. I'm actually tempted to take the location out of the template altogether for the moment to avoid confusion. If you include both, both get displayed. I'm not sure about including both, though. If an NPC wanders around outside, they're almost always close to their house. If you want to do it, though, I wouldn't object. rpeh •T•C•E• 16:07, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
-
-
- I see the same effect with "store=". I used the skipLocation with a store owner on the most recent table I filled in. I will go back and revert the Tel Uvirith ones if you want me to. --Brf 16:14, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
- I think that's the best thing to do. Incidentally, I'm sorry if this all seems to be laying down the law. It's all just advice, and if you ever disagree with me we can get other people involved to come up with a consensus. I'd hate to put you off by being seen to be too harsh. rpeh •T•C•E• 16:21, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
-
-
- No. It doesn't bother me any. You have more experience than me in topics like this. In this particular case, I am sure I broke some sort of category, like NPCs who have homes, so I should not have done that change without thinking it through. --Brf 16:25, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- Funny.... When I reverted the pages, the location did not disappear from the table, even after editing the table a little and viewing changes. It must be some sort of caching problem. I used skiplocation and filled in the locations manually. --Brf 16:39, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

MW Image[edit]
Hey there, firstly congrats on becoming Patroller! It's good to have a knowledgeable Morrowind guy in the team :) Secondly, I took a look at this pic you uploaded, and I'm afraid it's not exactly what we're looking for. NPC images should be square (e.g. 1000x1000) such as this one. Other than that, keep up the good work! ;) --SerCenKing Talk 10:35, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
- That is weird. It was 960x960 originally. I must have jiggled the size accidentally before I uploaded it. I will fix it. --Brf 14:12, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

- Haha, I'm afraid not, you'll have to hit refresh. If I can be even more annoying, I had two more tips:
- Get rid of the cursor on the right hand side - I hadn't noticed that initially
- Center the image more on the NPC: at the moment there is a big empty space on top of him and his feet are missing, get an idea of the angle from the image I linked.
- You may find that taking a new image is more convenient. All the best. --SerCenKing Talk 14:40, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

- Ha. I didnt notice that cursor either. I wonder where that came from. The problem with the angle on that shot is that he is standing on a hill, so I am looking up at him. I stood there next to him for ten minutes hoping he would turn around, but he insisted on standing in that pose. I have a second shot that is a little closer, without the big space at the top, but his feet are still cutoff, much like the Hard-Heart one you are using as an example. I will see if I can get a better shot. I think I have a save from just after I turned off the ash storm.

I would like an explanation.[edit]
I just came across the message for my IP address notifying me that I have added "nonsense" and am guilty of vandalism, with the threat that I'll be blocked from editing. User denoted -> Brf. Do leave me another message explaning just what was my nonsense and how I can avoid such trivial threats in the future. (also, feel free to delete this once you see it) 70.114.63.215 17:04, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
- Quoting from your post I removed:
- (→This Guy Is Retarded. Seriously Retarded.) What's "SUPREMLY HARD" on my brain is that people post comments like these.
- We do not condone attacks on other users, and this Wiki is not the place to be posting about what is "Hard on your brain". This is site concerned with TES games, not user's headaches. Such a post is therefore Nonsense. --Brf 17:31, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
-
- Oh, but you condone attacks on scripted NPCs and keep up such nonsense as "This guy is retarded"? My post *was* about the TES game, and I was correcting the obvious frustrated "genius" who simultaneously calls an NPC retarded in the same breath as misspelling "supremely". The reason why it was not nonsense is because he was sadly mistaken about Alval Uvani. Uvani does leave around midnight. Why you even let frustrated ad-hominems against the game but go after we who correct it is beyond me. {{unsigned|70.114.63.215|21 december 2010}

- NPCs are not even alive, let alone users of this board. If you want to reply with corrected information, without attacking the original writer or complaining about your own health problems, then that is fine. --Brf 12:24, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Sic tags[edit]
I apologize for the mistake with sic tags, but I still made relevant edits to the notes section, which was said to have needed revision. I will revert those changes, but from now on I will be more diligent in my editing. Thanks you for the information.
Also, you said that you undid my "bad edits". I only changed the notes sections of pages according to this A comment on the task list: "Notes" section is occasionally appropriate, but not often. Anything a player might need to know during the quest should be provided in the detailed walkthrough. Particularly, anything a player would need to know before beginning the quest should be provided in the first part of the article. If there are any other related facts that aren't necessary before or during the quest, those would be appropriate in a "Notes" section". The things that I changed, being how there were two bullets in the notes section stating that horses you brought would attack Pelilius, which I condensed to one. The second edit I made was adding the fact that killing him will make you fail the quest, which again according to the above rule belongs in the detailed walkthrough section and not the notes section because it is usefull to know during the quest. The last edit I made to the notes section was removing ways to damage yourself. This is redundant in both the number of ways and the necessity of fiding obvious ways to damage yourself, which is why I removed the list that was bloating the notes section. --Pwnageincarnate 22:35, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Pwnageincarnate
- Yup. Those Note edits were more or less relevant, but you made them as I was reverting to an earlier version to handle the sic tags you removed again, after I had restored them, so those edits were lost too. I had to leave, so I did not have time to follow-through. I saw Wizy was explaining the sic tags, so I left it to him. You will note that I did leave in the first note edit you made, removing the redundant horse notes. --Brf 00:12, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for protecting the Mace Etiquette thing. Hopefully the other rewards don't fall victim. And how is it your able to set up a protection on them words? - Emoboy64 01:25, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

- Oh right. Thanks again - Emoboy64 01:31, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

- I gotta point out, there is a bracket in the rewards part now. You'll have to remove that. Thanks - Emoboy64 01:36, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

- Actually, section protection shouldn't be used in that way - it's for talk pages only. Please see this page for more info. It's probably fair enough to use it for short periods if a user is being disruptive as in this case, but I'd suggest mentioning any such usage on the admin noticeboard so an admin can block the problematic user and remove the section protection.

- If this seems a little restrictive, please remember that section protection is implemented as an extension that's trying to make MediaWiki do something it's not really intended for. See the extension page for more info. rpeh •T•C•E• 10:06, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

- Yes. I was intending it to be for a short time only, until one of the admins had time to review my reaction. When I added the category, I noticed that only talk pages were protected like that. I should have posted on the admin noticeboard, but was inexperienced in the matter. --Brf 12:13, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Oblivion Combat Blade and Blunt-Two Handed: Shield advantage[edit]
With regard to your reverting my edit on Oblivion Combat Blade and Blunt-Two Handed: Shield advantage, with all du respect it is _NOT_ mentioned in the disadvantages that your Spell Effectiveness is not decreased. Plus it's an advantage which makes it strange to put under disadvantages. -- MartinS 46.162.87.211 15:54, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
- The section is concerning the advantages/disadvantages to using Two-Handed Weapons -- not the advantages/disadvantages to using shields with them. The disadvantage is that shields are not fully effective with a two-handed weapon. If you want to mention spell effectiveness, you can add it to the existing note. --Brf 16:05, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
-
- That's the point. One advantage of using two-handed weapons is that you get the benefit of the shield enchantment, without weakening Spell Effectiveness. Again, you think this advantage has a place below the disadvantages. -- MartinS 46.162.87.211 17:42, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

- You have a point. I adjusted the article. --Brf 17:51, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

- Thank you. However you said you could block with it, which isn't true so I edited your entry. Hopefully we agree on it now. -- MartinS 46.162.87.211 17:58, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

- I did not. My text said "A shield cannot be equipped to Block". See the "not" ? --Brf 18:01, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

- Ooops. Yes. Sorry. However a shield _can_ be equipped (otherwise you won't get the enchanment from it). But it cannot be used to block if you have a two-handed weapon equipped as well. I've adjusted to page. Ok, now? -- MartinS 46.162.87.211 18:34, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

I don't know if you noticed but...[edit]
That was actually a pretty funny error you caught on Palonirya's page, considering her profession.
- Yes. I figured she was the "costumer". --Brf 21:29, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

- Does make more sense that way, doesn't it.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 23:05, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
A minor detail[edit]
Yeah, you undid my fixed typo on traelius' journal on the basis that it is "Verbatum material" I'm not sure what you meant or intended by this (kinda new) but my copy of the journal says '26th mid year' not '266th mid year' is this the sorta thing that just doesn't get fixed round here? PS whats your take on this I respect your judgement, usually.Datacaust 17:29, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
- I figured that if that typo has been in there for three years, that that is way it shows in the standard, unpatched, game. As for your quest, I am unfamiliar with it, so I have no comment. --Brf 17:34, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
- I checked the Construction Set and it does indeed say 26th Mid Year, not 266th. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 17:39, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. Weird that that typo has been there for so long. --Brf 17:40, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I only found it because of what's going on here. Thanks A.M. Matt.Datacaust 17:45, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
Tables[edit]
You seem to know your stuff, mind having a look here and doing something with the tables, or explaining why they are like that? Just confusing me and all - Emoboy64 21:36, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
- How is that? I just copied the format of another such table. --Brf 23:11, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
-
- I've not got much experience with tables so by seeing you fix them, i learnt something. Thanks for fixing them - Emoboy64 23:14, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
