Welcome![edit]

Hello Aquilia! Welcome to UESPWiki! It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games on the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! - KINMUNETALK﴿ 21:07, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Contributing[edit]

Hey! You've asked advice for contributing to the Online namespace, so I'm gonna write down some thoughts here... feel free to ask if something is unclear.

I would say that since this namespace is huge, and missing quite some stuff, go with what you feel is most interesting to you. Try a few different things and check out older edits to get a hang of the editing. If you enjoy editing, you might want to create a sandbox and draw up some small plans or mini projects for yourself, it helps to keep editing focused. (You will likely get a few ideas for that during the work, so it's like a natural process.)

My own journey began when I started working on Craglorn, adding some images, then went on to add some other Craglorn information. I discovered it was missing so many things, and since I was exploring the whole area at that point, I could just add lots of information, from basic mob/location info, to images, to quest information. At some point I made a small table my sandbox to track my progress of editing the Craglorn quests, I guess it would count as a mini project :P

Important - If you see that there are older edits, such as the quest giver to Elemental Army, which you recently edited, then you need to consider double checking before removing the information. I think there might be several quest givers.

The editors and what they prefer to do varies so much. Some all basically all over the namespace, rotating between adding different stuff! Some keep only to specific tasks. Some are generally slacking, like Legoless :O Again, I think it's important to enjoy the editing, so you shouldn't feel obliged to do anything and try out everything you want to (except for following the editing policies!). Bot-generated pages is a good idea, but I think there's like thousands of these though! Maybe go and explore a specific area, and check out which bot-generated pages of that area need work? Otherwise you might get overwhelmed! Well, that's all I have to say right now, hope it helps a bit. Tib (talk) 20:43, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Hm, I'm gonna list some examples of tasks, maybe it gives you a few ideas - updating the pages with One Tamriel changes (would probably be very appreciated), adding new DLC information (we got a lot of DLC content quite covered at the moment though), focusing on vanilla content (big chunks of information missing there!). Adding images of places, NPCs and creatures, we mostly miss NPCs and creatures. Documenting the creatures and NPCs with basic info - hp, reactions, maybe some background info, add their dialogue, related to any quests. I'd suggest you limit that to some zone/area/dungeon/city, though. Writing quest walkthroughs and adding missing information to quest pages. Checking the book collections and documenting any changes or for example missing locations. Trying to fill in the dungeon pages, walkthroughs for the fights, information about boss abilities, etc, these need a lot of work. Integrating ESO events into the general Lore. There are like thousands of jobs that need to be done in Online namespace. One of the most easyest things that come to my mind is doing justice neutral NPCs. We have over 5,000 NPC pages with minimal to no human input, that all need to be filled out eventually. Just go to a town of your liking, check as many NPCs as you can, noticing health, race, gender, reaction, pickpocket difficulty, loot type (you don'T have to pickpocket, just crouch behind them), ... Or, if you're good at writing longer serieses of text, you can add walkthroughs and descriptions to our Quest and Place stubs. Many pages also only have their bare necessities done, and need some more work.
Regarding your health problem: I use the Azurah - Interface Enhanced mod, which gives me accurate health values for all types of NPCs.
