I played Morrowind shortly after its release (over 20 years ago, at the time of writing), then Oblivion, then Skyrim ... It may make me at least partially familiar with the world of Elder Scrolls, but there are people with much more experience in these matters. The games in this series already existed at a time when I didn't even think yet that I would have my own PC one day...
I'm interested in both lore and game mechanics. While searching for information about them, I have read almost the entire contents of this wiki twice in the last few years. No, seriously.
Apart from that, there's not much to say.
I have mixed feelings about the impact of ESO on lore. On the one hand, I appreciate the expansion, explanation and creation of many new historical and cultural facts. On the other hand, many of them were created solely for the player to pay for them - as is usually the case with online games. I'm talking about things like mounts, pets, crafting styles, random replicas of legendary artifacts, creatures in Morrowind and elsewhere we've never heard of before. I think this is especially highlighted by the fact that the game is set at an earlier time than we've seen so far. I mean, where did all of this go? Sure, it's been a thousand years, but still.
However, I appreciate the way of writing about it here on UESPWiki, with an effort to integrate such not really lore-friendly things into the existing world in a decent way. Kudos.
Still, I like Vvardvarks, obviously.
