Detailed Walkthrough

The next task that Silniel the Maven gives you is to steal a particular slave from the market in Port Telvannis. She acknowledges that the task is unusual but believes that since the Telvanni believe slaves to be property, they can be stolen like any other property. The name of the slave required is Mala Mirandus, a Breton. Since there's no way even a skilled thief could sneak out carrying a human, Silniel gives you an unusual scroll that casts Almsivi Intervention on other. She wants you to cast the spell on Mirandus, which should teleport her to Ranyon-ruhn where another guild operative will be waiting to pick her up.

Travel by boat to Tel Ouada then catch a River Strider to Port Telvannis. The slave market is over to the east of the capital and Mirandus is in one of the slave cages. To cast the spell, you need to be fairly close to Mala Mirandus and then drop the scroll onto your picture in your inventory. Mirandus will disappear and you will get a journal update. If you were seen casting the spell, you will receive a bounty so make use of Sneak and perhaps the potions that were your reward for the previous quest.

Return to Silniel in Firewatch. If Mala Mirandus died, you get no reward and Silniel's disposition towards you drops by 10. Otherwise, her disposition rises by 10, you get three Thieves Guild reputation points and 500 gold.

I should read the scroll like a book when sufficiently close to the slave. Another guild member will wait for her at the temple in Ranyon-Ruhn. I've been reminded that stealing a slave is still a crime and if I get caught I will be fined.
20		I have cast Almsivi Intervention on Mala Mirandus. Hopefully, she arrived in Ranyon-Ruhn.
25		I was spotted casting Almsivi Intervention on Mala Mirandus. The spell appeared to work, but it put a bounty on my head.
100	Finishes quest	Silniel the Maven told me that Mala Mirandus has arrived in Ranyon-Ruhn. She didn't sound particularly thrilled about it.
110	Finishes quest	I told Silniel the Maven that Mala Mirandus was dead. She was not happy with this news.
