Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Dreynos Helvi has concerns about Tola Serevam, whose caravans have been delayed in the Armun Ashlands town of Arvud. Dreynos suspects Arvud's governor of being responsible, but recommends talking to Tola at the Golden Moons Club before setting out there. The club lies at Andothren's southern extremity, among the manors on the city's highest street.

The Golden Moons[edit]

Ask to Tola about the topic caravans have been delayed to get further details. Apparently, the governor of Arvud, Balvene Uvayn, has held up her caravans while asking for extra dues. Tola, having a reputation for being tight-fisted, is refusing to pay. She demands that you quickly go to Arvud to solve the problem (indeed, your final reward will depend on not taking longer than seven days from this conversation to sort out the issue).

At 80+ disposition, Tola will reveal a few additional details - specifically that it is likely Armas Tyravel, the Arvud governor's steward, that is the source of the delay.

Arvud Investigation[edit]

Arvud is situated in the Armun Ashlands, which is not a casual walk for low level characters. The best fast travel option is via silt strider. You can take the one from Andothren to Menaan, and then another from there to Arvud. Once there, enter the Uvayn Manor on the northeastern side. You can talk to the governor, Balvene, but she will have little to reveal. Instead, asking around the manor on the topic caravans have been delayed will sooner or later point you towards Armas Tyravel. Armas is by the ground floor entrance. If Stolen Cargo in Issarbaddon or The Visitor Known as Vendel Othreleth have not been completed, he will hint at both these quests when speaking to you, but asking him about the caravans topic will have him reveal more information.

Apparently he halted the delivery not out of dues - that was a ruse to lure in an agent of Tola's - but because he suspects sabotage of the goods. He will ask you to investigate a heavily armed man who entered town prior to the discovery of the sabotage. This man is Anbarys Irathi, who is staying at Lucky Shalaasa's Caravanserai. Armas will request that you deal with Anbarys, and in return he will release the caravan.

Caravanserai Confrontation[edit]

The caravanserai is just around the corner from Uvayn Manor. You will find Anbarys in the rooms beneath the bar, in the room at the far end of the corridor. He has two guards with him. You can speak to the guards before the confrontation and attempt to convince them to leave. This conversation contains a hidden Sway check. Your success will depend on a combination of your personality, speechcraft, and luck. Your chances will also be modified by your fatigue level and the guards dispositions towards you. If successful, the guards will allow you to bribe them 200 gold to step aside, making the conversation with Anbarys significantly easier.

Ask Anbarys about the caravans. With the guards, you'll require him to have 80+ disposition before he'll crack. Without them, you'll need 60. If his disposition is lower, it will drop a further 5 on asking, and after four attempts he will set the guards on you, and you will be forced to kill both them and Anbarys without learning anything about his sponsor (although killing the guards and ending combat via, for example, a potion of invisibility may allow you to salvage the situation).

Once Anbarys is dealt with, return to Armas Tyravel, who will agree to release the caravan. Then return to Tola Serevam in Andothren. Her opinion on your performance will vary depending on whether or not you took longer than seven days, and whether you uncovered the sponsor of the sabotage. However, once you have reported back to her, you may then return to Dreynos Helvi at the Hlaalu Council Manor to complete the quest and get your reward.

You will receive 400 gold from Dreynos for killing Anbarys but failed to identify the sponsor of the sabotage, 400 gold if you took longer than seven days, and 500 gold if you identified the sponsor.

10 Tola Serevam's caravans have been delayed in Arvud for some time. Dreynos Helvi suspects that the governor has overstepped her duties, and sent me to investigate the matter. I should start with asking Tola Serevam, who can be found at the Golden Moons Club. Dreynos Helvi warned me that she is very tight-fisted with her money, so I should be prepared to bribe her.
20 Tola Serevam told me that her business is centered on her caravans trading goods between Andothren and Kragenmoor. Now, the caravans have been delayed in Arvud, since they refuse to pay additional dues. She asked me to resolve this matter quickly, since she's worried that any further delay would spoil her flawless record. I should bring this up with Arvud's governor.
21 Tola Serevam told me that her business is centered on her caravans trading goods between Andothren and Kragenmoor. Now, the caravans have been delayed in Arvud, since they refuse to pay additional dues. She asked me to resolve this matter quickly, since she's worried that any further delay would spoil her flawless record. I should bring this up with Armas Tyravel, who works at the governor's manor in Arvud.
25 After some persuasion, Tola Serevam revealed that the trade in Arvud is not actually managed by the governor, but rather by her steward, Armas Tyravel. He can also be found at the governor's manor.
30 Balvene Uvayn asked me to bring up my inquiry with Armas Tyravel, since he is the one who is in charge of managing the trade in the town.
40 Armas Tyravel told me that he had indeed stopped the caravans, since he had noticed that the transported food had got spoiled. The request for additional dues was just bait to send someone to investigate. Being aware of Tola Serevam's reputation, he thought that someone had sabotaged the food. He suspects Anbarys Irathi at the Lucky Shalaasa's Caravanserai to be responsible for the sabotage.
50 I've convinced Anbarys Irathi's guards to leave the room. That should make him more talkative.
51 I've killed Anbarys Irathi's guards. That should make him more talkative.
60 Anbarys Irathi revealed that he had indeed spoiled the food, but he had been paid generously to do so. He told me that his employer was Mels Mathyn, who is one of Tola Serevam's competitors in Andothren. I was able to convince Anbarys to leave Arvud.
61 I've killed Anbarys Irathi. Unfortunately, I was not able to get any information about his role in the sabotage.
70 Tola Serevam was glad that I'd been able to get her caravans released and that I had found out of her rival's sabotage. She told me that she would notify Dreynos Helvi about my success.
71 Tola Serevam was glad that I'd been able to get her caravans released, but was disappointed that I wasn't able to learn the cause of the sabotage. I should return to Dreynos Helvi now.
75 Tola Serevam was glad that I'd been able to find out of her rival's sabotage, but thought I had taken too long to resolve it. I should return to Dreynos Helvi now.
76 While being relieved to finally getting her caravans released, Tola Serevam was disappointed that I wasn't able to learn the cause of the sabotage. She also thought I should have given the matter higher priority. I should return to Dreynos Helvi now.
100 Finishes quest☑ Dreynos Helvi rewarded me for resolving the matter with Tola Serevam's caravans.
120 Tola Serevam is dead, so there is no point pursuing this matter any further. I should let Dreynos Helvi learn about this.
130 Armas Tyravel is dead. Since he is the only one who can release the caravans, I will never be able to get Tola Serevam's business up and running again. I should let Dreynos Helvi learn about this.
150 Finishes quest☑ Dreynos Helvi was furious when he learned about my failure, and told me he would think twice before doing business with me again.
