- Speak to Cano in the Old Ebonheart East Empire Company: Offices about assignment and shipping delays.
- (Optional) Speak to Quilmaro and Zenurie Mondette for advice.
- (Optional) Speak to other EEC employees for hints.
- In any order:
- Find Jodald at The Salty Futtocks in Old Ebonheart, and either:
- Offer 600 drakes in compensation.
- Offer 400 drakes in compensation (requires 40+ disposition and 15+ Mercantile).
- Offer 200 drakes in compensation (requires 80+ disposition and 45+ Mercantile).
- If you have been cleared to offload scrib jerky valued at 500 drakes, you may offer to sell this for...:
- free.
- 200 drakes (requires 40+ disposition and 15+ Mercantile).
- 400 drakes (requires 80+ disposition and 45+ Mercantile).
- Find Yaguz gro-Dhaluk at his clothier store, and either:
- Offer 1,000 drakes in compensation.
- Offer 700 drakes in compensation (requires 40+ disposition and 15+ Mercantile).
- Offer 600 drakes in compensation (requires 80+ disposition and 45+ Mercantile).
- If you have spoken to Zenurie Mondette about Yaguz gro-Dhaluk, you may offer a shipment of jewelry valued at 800 drakes for...:

- Find Wayrian Eulorius at his Mystical Emporium, and either:
- Offer 800 drakes in compensation.

- Offer 400 drakes in compensation (requires 80+ disposition and 45+ Mercantile).
- If you have heard of the Fighter's Guild's soul gem problem...
- Buy soul gems valued at 800 drakes from Sharnoga gra-Mal at the Guild of Fighters for 200 drakes.
- Offer this new crate to Wayrian for...
- free.
- 200 drakes (requires 40+ disposition and 15+ Mercantile).
- 400 drakes (requires 80+ disposition and 45+ Mercantile).
- Return to Cano to report your expenditure.
- If you spent more than 2,000 in compensation, pay Cano the difference.
- You have a 2,000 drake budget for compensation in this quest - any excessive expenditure will be reclaimed from your own pocket.
- You will receive half of any savings you make on that 2,000 budget as a reward.
- Making the full 2,000 savings gains you 2 general reputation points, while making any savings at all gains you 1.
- Lorindil, or any East Empire Company basement worker will discuss the scrib jerky topic if asked with 40+ disposition.
- While Nyshu gro-Nasdakh is named by one EEC guard as a likely source of intel, he does not have any more information than others in the basement.
- Any Fighters Guild member in the East Empire Company building can tip you off as to the soul gems available in their guild building.
- Jodald will always reject the crate of flin option proposed by Zenurie Mondette, as it's unpopular with his clientele.
