CALDERA MINE SHUTS DOWN

Grave news recently arrived from Vvardenfell: The Caldera Mine, the largest Imperial ebony mining operation on the island, has shut down! It is as of yet unclear what has caused the mining operations to cease, but speculations range from a slave uprising to a coordinated, wholesale slaughter of the mine administration by an agent of House Redoran. From our diligent reporting, though, one thing has become clear: should the shut-down not be resolved quickly, this event could turn out to be disastrous. The town of Caldera is economically dependent on the mines, and any lasting disruption would see Imperial citizens lose work and be forced to resettle in droves. Thankfully, this crisis in the West Gash has not, and likely will not, affected the economical prospects of Old Ebonheart. The Bellman would therefore remind all citizens that the Imperial Cult is always collecting alms for the poor, and any donations made in these trying times by those of us not affected by monetary hardships would be a welcome relief for those in need.
