Skyrim talk:Mogrul (Dragonborn)
Race[edit]
Are we sure he isn't an orc/ dunmer because he definitely looks like it. — Unsigned comment by 173.51.248.19 (talk) at 12:22 on 8 February 2013
- Game data confirms that he is just an Orc. There are no known half-races in Tamriel, as race is determined through the mother's race only, although characteristics are passed on from the father. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:19, 8 February 2013 (GMT)

- Mogrul defiantly looks half dunmer. I remember an NPC saying that Raven Rock was a Dunmer only settlement. — Unsigned comment by 76.105.239.216 (talk) at 04:40 on 25 March 2013

- There are exceptions. The blacksmith definitely isn't a Dunmer. 174.6.51.17 06:12, 11 June 2013 (GMT)

Essential status[edit]
Has anyone looked into when he is essential, and when he is not essential? If the article for his only quest and this article are still correct, then the results of just trying to kill are uncertain. I would think he would lose his essential status at the beginning of his quest, but I'll have to experiment later to confirm that possibility.--Playerseekingbugs (talk) 07:41, 7 April 2013 (GMT)
Permanent Hostility[edit]
Can we get a confirmation of Mogrul becoming permanently hostile? Skimming the article today was the first time I've ever heard of this, and there's no cause listed. It seems like if this was much of an issue then the unofficial patch would have found a fix for it by now if it was a scripting issue specific to him, so I'm curious whether it might just be a side effect of some other issue.
I've encountered other weird hostility issues in Skyrim, but only in NPCs that became hostile to me for good reason but somehow never cleared properly. Perhaps someone made him hostility and got him stuck in a similar way, but mistook it for a glitch specifically with Mogrul? -- Haravikk (talk) 23:37, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
- I just got this problem, playing with the unofficial patch. Mogrul's thugs attacked me a few times. I then paid him off. That should have been the end of it, instead he seems to randomly get flagged as hostile, and then the guards or followers will go after him. Typically he will appear as hostile in the market and then flee in to the Retching Netch. I didn't have this issue in my last playthrough, without the unofficial patch. --Olaus (talk) 20:00, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
