Can't Talk to Beggar

Has anyone else encountered the problem that you can't talk to the beggar?

The problem seems to be that something sets the quest's stage to 200 prematurely, at which point, you lose all access to the intended dialogues (which are all conditioned to require that the stage be less than 50). I'm not sure if this is a problem with the original quest or if it's something coming from the Unofficial Creation Club patch, so if anyone has this problem but isn't using the patch, that would be useful to know. – Robin Hood ^(talk) 07:31, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

Skyrim:Heart of Crimson beggar crashing console

I have done a lot of research, and have only found three other references to this problem, all on Reddit. After I got this quest, I actually managed to talk to the beggar on the first approach, whereupon my Xbox 1 console CTD'd immediately after, no chance to save. Now, whenever I get on the Windhelm dock, my console freezes or CTD's' every time. Hoping someone else is familiar with this, and knows a solution. I have the Quest Debugger mod, so would it be just best to set the quest complete? Does anyone think this will solve the crashing on the Windhelm docks?
