Bound Weapon Damage[edit]
Is the damage from a Bound Weapon based on One-Handed Skill or Conjuration Skill? — Unsigned comment by 72.85.181.246 (talk) at 21:33 on 23 November 2011
- First let me add a bit of format to this question before answering... Alright. The Conjuration skill doesn't modify the damage of the weapon. They only have two sets of stats. Their initial stats, which I believe are around Dwarven for that weapon, and the stats after you pick the perk that increases their damage, which makes them along the lines of Daedric. The actual damage you do with them, however, is based on your One-Handed skill for Bound Sword and your Two-Handed skill for Bound Axe, just as any weapon would be. This means that in the beginning of the game, bound weapons can be very potent if you upgrade them with the Conjuration perk, but as you progress Enchanting and Smithing, they become less useful. An Orcish weapon that has been sharpened on a grindstone, with a damage-dealing enchantment will easily kill faster than its equivalent bound weapon. By the time you can make Ebony, the sharpened Ebony weapon will likely do more damage than the Bound weapon at base. If you don't mind less damage, however, the constant soul-capturing and banishing effects you are capably of buying with Perks are extremely helpful. Just be warned that you will be restricted to dealing nearly a third of the damage you could be dealing.--Lovless510 19:10, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
-
- Daedric Sword and Mystic Bound Sword have the same damage but Smithing makes Daedric Swords better, Maxed out, Mystic & Daedric should have 39 damage but an Legendary Daedric will be at 67 Talamare 09:19, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

- Bound weapons are weapons. Meaning that if you have a 1H,2H,Bow perk then it does what any weapon of the same type does.
List on main[edit]
What is these (mystic) signs? Would that mean weapon damage after Perk in conjuration? ZeNinjaHawk 17:30, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- I assume so, but I'm just copying information from the game data. --NepheleTalk 18:58, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- Mystic version of the weapons are used instead if you have the mystic binding perk — Unsigned comment by 99.166.14.206 (talk) at 16:48 on 3 December 2011
- ^This. The Mystic Binding perk simply causes you to summon a different weapon, e.g. summon the Mystic Sword instead of the Bound Sword. Both are identical except for the Mystic one having higher base damage. — Unsigned comment by 122.107.165.186 (talk) at 09:48 on 22 February 2012
- There are 4 different damage values listed for Bound Bows. What do those mean? Presumably the numbers not in parenthesis refer to the regular and mystic versions respectively, but what are the numbers in parentheses? ChapnCrunch (talk) 13:02, 13 April 2015 (GMT)

Weapon skill[edit]
Do you get skill XP from using bound weapons? Archery from using Bound Bow, One-Handed from using Bound Sword, etc. 178.183.241.123 18:13, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yes. And in the same way the perks for one-handed counts towards damage etc. with bound sword for example. ZeNinjaHawk 16:13, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
Yes you do. You get Conjuring XP from summoning them but after that it's just like using any other weapon of that type - Bound Sword levels up your one-handed and so on. — Unsigned comment by 132.161.164.21 (talk) at 22:07 on 30 November 2011
- Correction; with the Bound Sword for example each strike you make will give you both Conjuration and One Handed experience. Casting the spell to summon the sword only gives a small amount of Conjuration experience, and entering combat with a Bound weapon in your hands also seems to give a small amount of Conjuration experience. — Unsigned comment by 122.107.165.186 (talk) at 09:45 on 22 February 2012
conjuration exp on attack[edit]
I noticed after attacking with bound weapons for a while that suddenly my conjuration level was increased... Can anyone else confirm this? --78.22.50.137 15:33, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yes any bound weapon will level up your conjuration skill when you hit and enemy with it, it will also rais the one handed skill. I noticed that my conjuration skill and one handed skill were levelling up at around the same rate (i dont have the mage, warrior or thief stone, i have the lover stone so all my skills get a 15% increase in levelling so if you are using the mage stone for example the conjuration will level up alot faster (GJC) — Unsigned comment by 81.156.155.100 (talk) at 18:28 on 6 December 2011

- I would like to add regarding skill increases for conjuration: Your skill increases when an enemy sees you and the conjured item. What this means, is if you summon a bound sword, you will gain skill when an enemy becomes aware of you. This applies for summoned creatures also. I don't know if you get the skill for each subsequent enemy (but I highly doubt this, I believe you get the skill up only the first time you are noticed). This makes it very easy to level up conjuration. Find an enemy that can't "get" to you (fell glow keep has a couple wolves in a cage for instance). Make the enemy angry at you (red dot on compass) - the wolves in fell glow require you to open the cage and close it before they get out. Then stand in front of them, and cast your conjuration spell. (bound sword is quite effective tested to around 65 conjuration.
- I believe you also get conjuration skill when dealing actual damage with the weapon also, though I used sneak a lot, I don't know if my skill ups were as a result of an enemy seeing the weapon I was sneak killing them with, or as a result of dealing actual damage to them with said weapon. Further investigation is required. -- MeateaW — Unsigned comment by 58.163.175.181 (talk) at 06:39 on 2 January 2012

- actually, you dont get increase in conjuration when the enemy sees you, but rather when you come within a certain distance of an enemy. this is useful for noticing enemies that are behind doors or walls, since u might suddenly get a conjuration skillup out of the blue - this means that an enemy is close. — Unsigned comment by 91.182.126.163 (talk) at 14:36 on 12 January 2012

- It is based on the same principles of summoning creatures, you won't get XP unless you are in combat, you only get a tiny amount for actually summoning the weaponTheSwordSmith 12:52, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Bound Ammunition[edit]
Do bound bows come with bound arrows? Will a bound bow use arrows if you have them? — Unsigned comment by Mudeye (talk • contribs) at 22:04 on 9 December 2011
- Yes, the bow comes with arrows - they deal 24 damage (same as a Daedric arrow). --147.251.215.82 19:08, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- To the second question the bow will dispel after you used the 100 Bound Arrows that are provided. --SPMcKinney 18:30, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Weapon weight[edit]
Does anyone know what's the weight value for bound weapons? It's important for attack speed, stamina power attack drain, etc. 178.183.234.174 13:16, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Bounds weapons cause fear effect?[edit]
I've noticed that when fighting enemies using the Bound Bow and Bound Sword spells that after a small number of hits the weapon seems to cause a fear effect on the target. This is not due to the target having a low health. Heavily armored targets with close to near full health run in fear and eventually cower after being struck only 3-6 times with the bound weapon... is this a glitch in the game, or a factor of bound weapons (I haven't seen fear inducing bound weapons mentioned anywhere)? — Unsigned comment by 24.34.69.74 (talk) at 22:42 on 22 January 2012
- Are you talking about Undead enemies? If you have the Oblivion Binding perk your bound weapons Turn Undead, in that each strike reduces the enemy undead's Confidence. When the enemy has lost too much Confidence it will flea from combat. — Unsigned comment by 122.107.165.186 (talk) at 09:37 on 22 February 2012
- I don't think he is doing no as I have noticed this also. It is with undead that I have spotted it. Rather than turn and run they sometimes seem to cower. I do not yet have the Oblivion Binding perk but I do have the Mystic bound weapon.
Oblivion Binding effects[edit]
Does anyone know the actual effects of the Oblivion Binding perk? Does it only effect undead and daedra created with conjuration magic or does it affect all or only some? What is the magnitude of the turn or banish effects? 75.94.172.142 00:47, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- When fighting undead using a Bound Weapon and it's associated Banish Perk you will "Turn Undead". That is why you have the Fear effect.— Unsigned comment by 50.39.66.204 (talk) at 11:52 on 8 February 2012
- The perk only affects daedra that have been summoned and undead that have been raised. Pre-existing undead like vampires and draugr are not affected by this perk, nor are daedra that already exist. In other words, if the undead's body remains intact instead of dissolving into ash, it's immune to Oblivion Binding, and if the daedra disappears upon death instead of falling over as a corpse, it's also immune. — Unsigned comment by 108.223.179.45 (talk) at 16:44 on 1 July 2012
Bound Bow early start tip[edit]
An Altmer should be able to cast it from level one, using the novice hood. It doesn't really matter, since you'll likely be around level five by the time you obtain the tome, but it's worth noting all the same. — Unsigned comment by 24.141.112.11 (talk) at 17:05 on 1 March 2012
conjured weapons and sneak perk?[edit]
i take out the bound bow, go in sneak mode and while undetected i fire an arrow. do i get the 3x damage bonus if i have the perk unlocked in sneak? same for sword and war axe.
and do the 5 damage perks in each weopon type affect bound weopons as well? — Unsigned comment by 71.86.187.104 (talk) at 05:04 on 4 March 2012
- Yes, all relevant perks apply to Bound Weapons as well as regular ones including sneak and damage bonuses. – Robin Hood↝talk 07:43, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
soulstealer details[edit]
what is the duration of the soultrap it casts? or is it only on the kill it does it? ex if i bring a monster down to 1hp and my follower finishes it instantly after my swing do i get it? how about a few seconds? ect. is it 1 sec or less? is it more? — Unsigned comment by 24.38.235.96 (talk) at 17:23 on 7 July 2012
- This is kinda late, but I believe it to be 2-3 seconds. Lydia killed someone that I hit with the Bound Sword with the perk. It said "Soul Collected." It couldnt have been more then 5 seconds when she hit him. Camron J. H. 68.229.253.168 02:58, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
Bound bow and exp[edit]
I don't know if this is universal to all platforms and patches, but on PS3 V1.04 bound bow doesn't train conjuration upon casting or use. The only skill it is training is archery upon use. Artemis Entreri 22:03, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- None of the Bound Weapon spells will increase Conjuration skill unless you cast them while in combat. This is already noted. Bound Bow in particular you're more likely to cast before you're actually fighting, because it's a ranged weapon, so you gain no experience that way. TheRealLurlock (talk) 14:40, 13 December 2012 (GMT)
Bound Battleaxe and Limbsplitter perk...[edit]
Does the limbsplitter perk apply? I read that this didn't work... unless it has been patched? Unfortunately I'm an Xbox user and testing isn't so simple... -HK 87.86.169.66 14:59, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- Buddy , it doesn't . To do so the weapon needs to have at least a material keyword for example " WeapMaterialDaedric " since the bound weapon has its appearance but it doesn't have any so the perk won't apply . Its useless anyway the perk is too weak to invest only for living creatures unless of course you mod both the perk and the weapon — Unsigned comment by 80.78.79.253 (talk) at 21:48 on 6 September 2012
Increasing damage of bound weapons[edit]
It seems like fortify one-handed equippment doesn't affect the damage of bound swords, so i guess this applies to the other two bound weapons as well, is this true or am i wrong? Is there another way to increase the damage of bound weopons, besides mystic binding and poisoning them (perks for example)? — Unsigned comment by Blaff (talk • contribs) at 12:41 on 18 October 2012
- Fortify Archery really raise the damage of bound bow.145.100.194.152 13:40, 13 December 2012 (GMT)
- There is a mod on Steam which increases the damage of bound weapons in line with your conjuration skill. Also, anything that increases one handed damage should improve the Bound Sword or Bound Dagger (i.e. rings, etc) and similarly there should be equivalents for the Bound Bow and Bound Axe.
Bound bow draw speed[edit]
On the Skyrim:Weapons page, there is a list of the draw speeds of all the conventional bows. The long bow has a speed of 1, the dwarven bow has a speed of .75, the deadric bow has a speed of .5 etc. What is the draw speed of a bound bow?166.137.119.21 17:07, 18 January 2013 (GMT)
- Late reply, but the speed of the Bound Bow (mystic or otherwise) is 0.875 - equal to a Nord Hero Bow. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 16:15, 8 March 2013 (GMT)
Bound Dagger isn't actually a dagger[edit]
Just noticed, the bound dagger isn't actually a dagger. the dual-wield power attack animation is that of swords, with the left, right, left attack pattern. It does have a higher swing speed, but it's really just a short sword. I think the dagger dual-wield power attack hits an extra time or two, not sure, but it's worth noting, at the least.
Bound dagger and mistic version are daggers. Assassin's Blade perk work with them. But animations is sword. It means, what with this daggers work Dual flurry perks. but they arent silent. bugs... seems what programes use bound sword template and forget change anim tipe and detection sound level (78.60.67.100 15:16, 8 March 2013 (GMT))
- Does that mean that powerattacking with them actually staggers the enemy, unlike normal Daggers?
Elemental Fury[edit]
You cannot use Elemental Fury with Bound Weapons on PS3 even without Mystic Binding. Should be checked on Xbox and PC too.99.229.102.14 22:39, 16 May 2013 (GMT)
Bound weapons, enchantments, and perks?[edit]
Should there be a list of weapon perks that affect the Bound Weapons (e.g. Overdraw, Warmaster, Bladesman, etc.) added to the page?
And do enchantments that fortify damage further increase the damage of bound weapons (i.e. Fortify Archery, One- and Two-Handed)?
Spiegel1 (talk) 18:21, 3 August 2013 (GMT)
All perks and equipment enchantments that affect a regular weapon also affect the bound weapon equivalent.
Bound Sword (Mystic) one handed skill XP[edit]
If you have the Mystic Binding perk,is the one handed skill xp gained based on the Bound Sword base damage,or the Mystic Bound Sword base damage ?--Devilush (talk) 21:15, 2 October 2013 (GMT)
- Edit - nvm found this : Mystic bound weapons are indeed different weapons with higher base damage, so you will get more experience for using them. image link : [1] — Unsigned comment by Devilush (talk • contribs) at 21:39 on 2 October 2013
Vampire Drain AOE[edit]
I was playing my breton necromancer/spellsword, and I decided to join the Volkihar to get the heal dead spell, and I made good use of the vampire lord form, especially when I didn't want to level up just yet(so I can get to a trainer without accidentally double leveling)
and I noticed that bug, you know the bug, when you turn back from VL mode you sometimes have the Drain Life AOE spell in your hand. I noticed it, and I noticed it, and I kept on noticing it, because it kept happening, almost every time I turned human, that's when I REALLY noticed it, it only happened when I used the VL form when I was equipped with a Bound Sword, it probably works with other bound weapons too.

Bound Dagger Not Silent[edit]
I believe it is noteworthy, as well as likely unintended, that the Bound Dagger (Which implies it would be classified as such; a dagger) is not silent as daggers normally would be. I am not referring to it being cast, but rather swinging the dagger appears to be equivalent to swinging a sword in regards to the sound made. Can anyone confirm this, and would it be worthy of adding to the article, as a note, bug or otherwise?

How to avoid battleaxe bug?[edit]
Maybe it's just me but I found that I got the battleaxe bug (the one when you get empty handed) only when I put the spell in both right and left arm, and when I use the spell in right OR left arm, it happens. It's the same to everyone else? If was this way, it could be prevented by putting the left in only one arm.
