Inaccurate[edit]

"~so it can be used to set enemies ablaze so that other attacks will do more damage." This is inaccurate. Despite the misleading text in some Fire spell descriptions, other attacks will not do extra damage. All fire damage has a damage over time effect attached that is equal to about 10% of the spells magnitude. — Unsigned comment by 68.112.118.41 (talk) at 06:04 on 10 August 2013‎

You are correct; I have confirmed this in my own work on a mod for Skyrim's magic system that the burn effect of fire spells does not enhance the damage that fire spells do. The burn effect of fire spells is the result of the spell's effect tapering values extending damage along a downward slope beyond the spell's default duration - causing the target's health to appear to 'burn' at increasingly lower values as the flames dissipate visually. But it has no actual effect causing fire spells or other attacks to do more damage to a target that is already on a fire due to being on fire. With this in mind, I have removed the inaccurate section from the main page. --Lobotomy 98.232.179.32 21:22, 25 January 2014 (GMT)
Update: While editing the main page to remove the inaccuracy noted above, I also noticed another inaccuracy: The aforementioned notes line regarding this spell as being affected by the Novice Destruction perk, but that is also untrue - the spell Arniel's Convection has no assigned casting perk and is thus unaffected by such perks. The spell is, however, able to have its casting cost reduced to 0 by increasing the Destruction skill itself, so I have rewritten that section to reflect that information. I've also removed the bit regarding the spell as having practical use to Vampires and characters with the Atronach Stone, as that is a very fragile claim at best. --Lobotomy 98.232.179.32 21:48, 25 January 2014 (GMT)

Which is it?[edit]

The notes section claims that "casting it or merely having it ready to cast in an area with flammable gas will result in a massive explosion". However, the bugs section says that "having this spell equipped and drawn will not set off flammable gas, due to never having been added to the relevant form list for explosive gas traps, TrapGasMagicDrawn". So...which is it?--189.73.135.251 06:18, 8 August 2014 (GMT)
