Hired Thugs[edit]

Hi! I just had a Bandit attacking me. After defeating him, I searched his belongings, and he held a note which proved that he was hired to "teach the thief [my name] a lesson" and it wouldn't be too bad if I died. The note was signed by Ahlam. But there was no quest connected to this and I had only spoken to Ahlam once before about a truly trivial matter (she just complained about her husband) and I certainly didn't steal anything from her.

Now I'm wondering what this is all about. Did this happen to anybody else? — Unsigned comment by 85.3.207.138 (talk) on 17 November 2011

Nearly any NPC in the game will send Hired Thugs after you if you steal stuff from them. And the chances are that you did actually steal something owned by Ahlam -- she is a member of the factions that own The Drunken Huntsman, Arcadia's Cauldron, Temple of Kynareth, and Chillfurrow Farm. So if you stole anything from any of those places, regardless of whether or not you had ever talked to Ahlam, it is still considered stealing from her. --NepheleTalk 04:00, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

OMGosh![edit]

Alright so I am currently working on a quest called "Rescue Mission" which I got from the companions. I was told that Ahlam was captured and brought to Rannveigs fast as a prisoner. My mission was to bring her back. So my frist task was to "Rescue Ahlam in Rannveigs fast" and I did so, killed everthing in their as a matter of fact. Also I got a new shout skill. So I killed the leader of the dungeon and got a new mission. My second tas kwas to "Talk to Ahlam" but she was nowhere to be found in that dungeon. Then I checked the map to follow where i was supposed to go for the quest, it showed a location just south of Silent moon camp. When I went their I looked hardcore for her and found nobody. So I looked at my compass and it showed that I had to go to Whiterun. So to make shur it was correct I pulled out clairvoyance and used it to lead me to the proper direction which in fact was Whiterun. So when I went in I figured ill use clairvoyance again but the spell didnt work and the message stated "There is no direct path" or something like that. So I searched the whole freaking town and couldnt find her. Question #1: Why the hell isnt my map tracking working for this quest? Question 2: Where the hell is Alham!!!? Name meaning[edit]

Just thought you guys might be interested in knowing that the name "Ahlam" is a commonly used name meaning "Dreams" in Arabic.— Unsigned comment by 77.69.217.67 (talk) at 10:26 on 5 August 2012

Additional Dialogue[edit]

If you kill Nazeem, Ahlam will say "I hope the wilds claim you one of these days." And here I thought I was doing her a favor. --Crayolamanic (talk) 09:22, 3 March 2013 (GMT)

Actually, that dialogue is just generic for people whom NPCs hate. Killing Nazeem will lower her friendship level to this point, but it is not unique to her, nor is it a direct result of killing Nazeem. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 09:44, 3 March 2013 (GMT)
I thought it was just her, thanks for the explanation. She was pretty friendly until I killed Nazeem. I know other NPC's have reactions to murder of family, etc. Example: Elrindir will greet you with "Something you need, you miserable wretch?", after you kill Anoriath, and while I know other NPC's with the same voice actor will use that phrase, Elrindir's use of this phrase is linked to the murder of his brother. Is it possible that Ahlam's dialogue IS related to the murder of Nazeem, in this same way? I can think of NOTHING I have done that would cause her to become hostile to me in this playthrough other than the murder of her husband, and she became unfriendly immediately after. If so, perhaps it does deserve a mention. Even if the line is used elsewhere..? --Crayolamanic (talk) 10:07, 3 March 2013 (GMT)
While dialogue suggests that she strongly dislikes her husband, NPCs still reacts using the relationship levels no matter what they say or think in-game. Game data links her to Nazeem, killing him makes her angry becauses that's how the game is programmed. Nothing incredible, there are dozens of NPCs who do the same thing if you kill one of their friend/relative. Elakyn (talk) 12:10, 3 March 2013 (GMT)

Arcadia's Cauldron?[edit]

Does she take over the shop? I have never had this happen? 68.97.219.244 04:14, 2 January 2014 (GMT)

It looks that way in the Creation Kit. Try killing Arcadia (or getting her killed somehow) and see what happens. Robin Hood  (talk) 05:11, 2 January 2014 (GMT)
Okay, I'll try it. 68.97.219.244 21:43, 4 January 2014 (GMT)
