Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Speak to Fura Bloodmouth or Garan Marethi.
- Kill a traveling target (Traveling Bard, Traveling Merchant, or Traveling Pilgrim).
- (Optional) Make it a discreet kill.
- Return to the quest giver.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Fura Bloodmouth or Garan Marethi will send you to find and kill the Dawnguard spy masquerading as either a Traveling Bard, Traveling Merchant or Traveling Pilgrim. Do so discreetly. With a high enough speech skill (75) it is possible to persuade them to follow you by telling them you'll take them to the 'monster' they're seeking, or intimidate them into coming with you. This makes it easier to kill them discreetly if you take them to a location where no one will see you.
Notes[edit]
- On rare occasions, the target may spawn inside Honeyside, which prevents you from reaching the target and completing the quest unless you own (or subsequently purchase) the house.

- The following empty quest stages were omitted from the table: 1, 11, 12.
Notes
- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
