Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Travel to Stony Creek Cave.
- Take Ruin's Edge.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
This is an unmarked quest to recover Ruin's Edge, a fabled bow. The bandit boss in Stony Creek Cave is in possession of the bow.
Defeat the bandit and claim it as your own to finish the quest. You'll also find many types of cheese on the bandit: an eidar cheese wedge, eidar cheese wheel, sliced eidar cheese, goat cheese wedge, goat cheese wheel, and sliced goat cheese. You might want to bring a pickaxe to mine the ore here as well.
Notes[edit]
- Ruin's Edge originally appeared in Shivering Isles. It was an enchanted Dark Seducer bow given to you as a quest reward by Lady Syl, Duchess of Dementia.
- This quest would originally be added to your journal upon installing the Ruin's Edge Creation. This was changed with the Anniversary Edition update, allowing you to discover the bow through natural gameplay.
- The leveled list that adds cheese to the bandit boss is called
ccBGSSSE004_LItemCheeseForEveryone
, referring to one of Sheogorath's favorite lines. - With the Saints & Seducers Creation installed, a unique Bliss Bug in a Jar can be found in Stony Creek Cave. This appears regardless of whether or not you have the Ruin's Edge Creation installed.

Notes
- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
setstage ccBGSSSE004_Quest stage
, wherestage
is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the quest usingresetquest ccBGSSSE004_Quest
.
