Aldepius as a Solitude guard

Aldepius is an Imperial soldier found at Dragon Bridge. His status as a new recruit was questioned by a guard stationed with Aldepius, who questioned his older age and curiosity relating to who the bandit informant was. Upon finding out that no one with the name Aldepius was listed on the garrison roster, the guard wrote about his intent to confront Aldepius at Dragon Bridge, subsequently getting murdered by him.

After discovering the murdered guard, the Dragonborn can find a note by Aldepius confessing to the murder and revealing his true identity as Peladius, a bandit whose group was betrayed, leading to him joining the guard to find out who was responsible. Stating that there was no honor in what he has done, he now seeks an honorable death from the Dragonborn.

As Aldepius, he wears a set of Solitude guard armor, as well as a pair of Imperial bracers and boots. Once the Dragonborn encounters him as Peladius, he wears a full set of steel soldier armor and wields a long bow and Steel Sword of Embers. He also carries 30 steel arrows and a potion of plentiful healing.

Aldepius's choice of armor depends on whether or not the Imperial Legion or the Stormcloaks are in charge of Haafingar.

Notes

• Aldepius/Peladius can only be encountered with the Alternative Armors - Steel Soldier Creation.

Bugs

• During the Prophet quest, you can ask Aldepius about a Moth Priest visiting Dragon Bridge. He will respond with generic guard dialogue, but since his voice type is different from the other guards he will remain silent.
  • The Official Skyrim Special Edition Patch, version 1.6.1130.0, fixes this bug.
