The Statue of Thassad is a large statue of Thassad II, the former High King of Hammerfell. Thassad's death triggered the Redguard Civil War, culminating in the Battle of Hunding Bay.

The statue is in the center of Stros M'Kai, along the river west of Hallin Falls and the Goblin Caverns. The statue's head has fallen, and it is referenced in the parrot Orsone's riddle explaining where Iszara buried a large treasure of 300 gold: "twenty-one paces, as the head faces, buried there the gold still gleams!" Indeed, by walking roughly twenty-one steps from the head in the direction it faces, you can dig up 300 gold with a shovel.

Two gold pouches lie behind the statue.

Notes[edit]

  • Although the statue is simply labeled "Thassad", there is no doubt this is Thassad II, as the original Thassad is of no relevance to the game's story and is never mentioned.
  • The Statue of Thassad is in a similar location as the Warrior statue in ESO, which is relevant to the quest Izad's Treasure. Both statues are landmarks featured in quests where you search for buried treasure. Note that ESO takes place almost 300 years before Redguard.
