Online talk:Viro Redhands
Removed Images[edit]
Could a moderator assist with something, please? ESO Moved the location of Viro Redhands. All images anywhere on the internet are the old location. I added two images to show where the NPC is now located. The pages were modified by someone with far more knowledge of the UESP wiki format then I and the standards for the wiki pages.
When the images were removed the reason was given that images of the location weren't needed because locations can be added by using some kind of mark and template, and a link was given on how to do that.
Wiki pages are useful and informative because of the combined efforts of the community. A community that just wants to help others. Most people have no background that would allow them to do much more then add an image and change some text. When an advanced user comes along and removes what the novice user added to help, how do you think that person will feel? I don't know how they will feel but I know what I felt.
I felt a great well of sorrow because of the hours it took me finding the NPC, getting his location, waiting for him to respawn more then once so I could get his location, taking the screen shots, converting the images to jpg, all with the intent to show and confirm his new location. Only to have someone remove it.
Most people in life just play games for fun. I know people that design and build equipment used to film wildlife under water like Jacques Cousteau would use but they can't make a .bat file, program in Python or Delphi, and maybe they did some Basic programming back in the 90s.
What I would like the moderator to do is to ask the person to voluntarily restore the images for now, or add the mark on the map using the template information. — Unsigned comment by Sharlikran (talk • contribs) at 17:07 on 10 July 2017
- The current image depicting Viro himself is just fine, as it is supposed to depict him, not his location. But you're right that the location is a valuable piece of information. Good find! I have re-added the map with his location using the Image Mark template.
- Edit: On second thought, normally we add the locations of the bosses to the dungeon page, not the boss pages. Therefore I moved it to Online:Crimson Cove. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 17:36, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

- Hey Sharlikran, my edits were pure maintenance and by no means meant personally. Unfortunately, the peculiarity of the location was not apparent from your original edits. As you can see, with the combined efforts of the community we have now integrated the information. Thanks for the good find and your work! :) (BTW if you still have the original screenshot of Viro, you can crop it to 1000x1000 px instead of 600x1000 and reupload it - "Upload a new version of this file" just above "File Usage" - so it meets our image standards.) --Holomay (talk) 17:59, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

- I do hate it when I react instead of respond. I will say in hindsight I should not have been so harsh. I can't apologize for the point I was trying to make, just for the way I said things. Sorry about that.

- It was asked that if I have the original to crop the image of Viro to 1000 by 1000 instead of 600 by 1000. I will see what I can do. I did delete those since I had already uploaded them. Also I have Photoshop CS2 and I really don't know how to designate settings for the crop tool to make it crop to 1000x1000. I will see if I can find something on the web. I have never tried to crop to a specific size I normally just drag the crop tool around the selection. — Unsigned comment by Sharlikran (talk • contribs) on 11 July 2017
