Pig vs Boar[edit]
We do differentiate between dogs and wolves. How is this different? ~Shuryard (talk) 17:14, 18 April 2015 (GMT)

- (edit conflict) Is there actually a creature called "Boar"? This looks like a recoloured Daggerback to me. It might be worth merging Pig and Daggerback similar to what was done with Online:Golden Saint, but on the other hand there's a fairly significant visual distinction as well as a lore-based one. —Legoless (talk) 17:19, 18 April 2015 (GMT)

- No, I've never seen boars in ESO so far. There were boars in Oblivion though (the game), so it was somewhat safe assumption. I think you are right, it is a daggerback. I don't like the idea of merging Pig and Daggerback pages though, as to me they are as different as wolves and dogs. ~Shuryard (talk) 17:28, 18 April 2015 (GMT)
- I was okay with merging pigs and boars because wild boars are basically wild pigs (another name for a boar is the Eurasian Wild Pig), and the term "boar" as they are typically referenced is simply an adult male pig, much like a bull is an adult male cow. Daggerbacks are a specific ESO thing that are different enough that I think they should stay separate. Jeancey (talk) 18:13, 18 April 2015 (GMT)

- Even in real life, the difference between domesticated pigs and wild boar are enough for the former to be considered a subspecies. The only argument I could accept for merging is identical models/animations, even though in terms of lore they're as distinct as the warthog. If "Boars" ever become a thing in ESO, I'd like to see them remain separate, or be merged with the Daggerbacks under an umbrella pig article. —Legoless (talk) 18:27, 18 April 2015 (GMT)
