Hungry for Knowledge[edit]
As you approach Zirokh, you will find him casting a spell over the corpse of a Dremnaken. When he notices you, Zirokh will call you over:
- Zirokh: "Our strength wanes, wanderer. Hear us."
Speak with Zirokh to see what is going on:
- "Attend, mortal. Your arrival could mean not all is lost. We require aid.
The eternal hum of knowledge fades within our sanctum. Creatures of ignorance invade the Apogee of the Tormenting Eye. They come to consume." - What kind of creatures do you mean?
- "Dremnaken. Our order, the Remnants, gathers knowledge. These beasts consume it.
They breached our wards, burrowing into the Apogee. Relics from across Apocrypha are now at risk. We must drive them out. You've arrived to aid us." - Why do you think I'll help you?
- "Why else would the Eye-of-All place you here, now? Be certain, the Remnants reward service.
A simple task—recover the relics before the Dremnaken find them. Close the beasts' entry portals. Then activate the Apogee's protective wards. Help us." - I'll close the portals, recover the relics, and activate the wards.
After you have received the Cleansing Rune, you can ask Zirokh some more questions before you enter the Apogee:
- "Take this rune. It will draw you to our most powerful relics. As you find Dremnaken portals, use the rune to collapse them. Once completed, reset the ward at the peak.
Now go, agent of fate. Ascend the Apogee. We shall await your return." - Who are the Remnants? / Can you tell me more about the Remnants? (If you haven't completed Forgotten Glories)
- "Even in our dwindled state, we hoped our name still held power. Alas.
The Remnants are the sword and shield of Hermaeus Mora. We stand between his infinite knowledge and those who seek to plunder it. That is, we did once." - What caused the change in the Remnants?
- "We ask ourselves that very question. Some broke off due to a lack of faith. As they left, our powers waned. That weakening led to others leaving as well.
What caused the initial shift, we cannot say."

- I've met other Remnant. I helped Tyss at the Cenotaph. / I've met other Remnants. At the Cenotaph. (If you completed Forgotten Glories)
- "Yes, we know. So few survived the assault. Eventually the vestiges who the Dreamcarvers cut down will reform and return to Apocrypha. Until that time, our gifts remain weak.
In any event, we are grateful for your effort." - I'd like to know about the Apogee of the Tormenting Eye.
- "The Apogee is a vault for items of arcane interest. At its center lies the shrine of The Tormenting Eye, one of Hermaeus Mora's famed [[Lore:Black Books|]Black Books]. It is currently off serving his divine purpose.
Once, many considered this place to be impenetrable." - How did the Dremnaken get in?
- "Dremnaken are pests. They have tested our defenses since the Apogee's construction. If one discovered a faded ward or a crack in our dimensional shielding, it would slip in. Others could follow, further widening the breach."

Once you enter the Apogee, you can locate and close the Dremnaken's portals and recover the relics to bring them back Zirokh. You will also need to reach the wards for the shrine in the center of the Delve. Once there, Zirokh will teleport in to assist with the wards:
- Zirokh: "Quickly, use the rune's power. Cleanse the locus."
After you use the Cleansing Rune, he will ask for your assistance reactivating the Shrine's wards:
- Zirokh: "Together we can reset the wards. Concentrate!"
- <A green light gathers in his hands and the red-black miasma surrounding the shrine disappears.>
- Zirokh: "The ritual drained our strength. Join us outside once your task is completed." (Appears if you haven't completed Forgotten Glories)
- Zirokh: "Excellent. Meet us back at the base of the Apogee." (Appears if you have completed Forgotten Glories)
After you have found all the relics and closed the portals, you can meet with Zirokh outside. He will call you over once he sees you:
- Zirokh: "You emerge. Come, speak."
Speak with him to complete the quest:
- "No need to tell us of your exploits, mortal. We can hear. Though still faint, the hum of knowledge steadies. The threat has passed.
Before we conclude, return the relics you secured." - Here are the relics I found.
- "We can no longer trust the Apogee to protect these items. It weakens and will fall. Your efforts give us time to relocate the secrets within.
Take this reward. Your service has concluded."
After you complete the quest, you can speak with Zirokh some more before you leave:
- "Although the Remnants must abandon this place, do not think your efforts a waste. Staunching a wound is the first step toward recovery.
Our clan will clear out any invaders still left, then begin transporting the Apogee's wisdom to a new home." - What was the shrine for?
- "The shrine protected our wares. The unified strength of the Remnants kept it alive. Perhaps, as we waned, so did the protective wards.
We may need to concentrate our efforts in one location. Much easier to watch for thieves that way."
- "The shrine protected our wares. The unified strength of the Remnants kept it alive. Perhaps, as we waned, so did the protective wards.
- I saw other grotesque creatures inside. / What will the Remnant do about the Apogee?
- "We assume you refer to the Hushed. Unfortunate creatures who arrive from your realm.
The mortal mind was not meant to hold the blessings of Lord Hermeaus Mora. They transform into the beings you saw. A cautionary tale."

Chronicle of Fate[edit]
If you helped him at the Apogee of the Tormenting Eye beforehand, Zirokh will appear at the ceremony in Cipher's Midden. His horns will be removed.
Speaking to him:
- "You are one of the most impressive mortals I've ever met. Well done earning a place in the chronicle of fate."
- What's the state of the Apogee?
- "We decided to restore its glory rather than abandon it. Some of the knowledge was one of a kind and is lost for now. Everything still exists in the Great Eye's marvelous mind, of course. He'll replace the missing knowledge when he sees fit."
He will be one of the voices to support you during Scruut's speech:
- Zirokh: "Many great works from our Apogee of the Tormenting Eye were rescued by this mortal."
