"Not a spectre, not a zombie, not a horse of a spooky color—the True Ghost Horse is the actual shade of a deceased mount, returned from beyond the equine grave."

The True Ghost Horse was available in the Crown Store for 030003,000 Crowns from April 12 to April 16, 2018. ESO Plus Members received a discount on this mount when it returned in 2021. Its default name is "Shader".

Physical Appearance[edit]

It has a light blue spectral tint applied and is transparent when viewed. Unlike other spectral mounts such as the Psijic Spectral Steed and the Spectral Indrik, the True Ghost Horse's barding is not a physical object: The same shader applied to the animal is also applied to the saddle, bridle, and other equestrian accessories. They say you can't take it with you, but this steed seems to have indeed brought its accoutrements with it from beyond the grave.

The True Ghost Horse and Winterbloom Warmblood's mane and tail are styled the same way as the Winter Garland Dapple Gray. The metal mask it wears when upgraded is identical to that of the Daggerfall Dapple Horse.

Notes[edit]

  • This mount's default name is a joke of sorts: in computer graphics, shaders give software instructions on how to render visual effects. They're often used in video games: they are the means by which projections in ESO gain their translucent appearance, and are responsible for giving the True Ghost Horse its spectral look.
