Treethane Dailithil

Treethane Dailithil is a Wood Elf and the leader of Tanglehaven. You'll find her at the foot of steps near the center of the village.

She's upset not only about the destruction of the village, but the disappearance of her daughter, Firwin.

Approaching her, she will be panting:

"We of [sic] have been more prepared…"

Speaking to her:

"We've seen more than our fair share of sorrow. It's my job to comfort everyone who lost sons and daughters to this madness, even when my own daughter is gone as well."
"I trust you're not here to add to our troubles?"
What happened here?
"The Drublog have been raiding villages all over. We survived, but just barely."
"All I can offer my people is a place to mourn. But their children's bodies are still out there, being scavenged by Drublog … and worse."
Is your village defenseless?
"Some of our militia was out training when the attack came. When they returned … I tried to stop them, but they left for the Drublog camp. For vengeance!"
"But they've been gone too long, and my daughter Firwin left with them. I can't lose her, too."
Stay here. I'll bring them back.

Asking more about the attack:

"My daughter doesn't deserve this fate!"
Have the Drublog attacked your village before?
"Not in recent memory. Tanglehaven's not a large village by any reckoning, and the Drublog know we've very little worth taking."
"They attacked without warning, and left as quickly as they came."
What did they take?
"They burnt the village, but did they actually take anything?"
"Just lives. Nothing but lives."

After you find her daughter, you'll find Dailithil near the river's edge:

"I shouldn't have left the village, but I had to know if my daughter's alive.
Now I don't know if I'll live long enough to see her again."
What happened? Are you injured?
"Firwin's father Thulendor came back, after all this time. But he wasn't the same. Something … changed him.
He attacked me! I asked him where he'd taken Firwin and he bit me."
Will the bite change you?
"Yes, and I suppose that's answer enough.
I wish I could pretend I don't know what'll happen, but it's obvious, isn't it? I'll change. Eventually become a minion to Hircine's will. Poor, poor Firwin!"
Firwin is alive, but there's something you should know.

Just then, Firwin comes running to her mother's side:

Firwin: "What's he done to you, mother?"

Speak to Firwin and the young Bosmer will take off across the river to face her father.

Treethane Dailithil: "No, Firwin!"

If you speak to Dailithil before reaching the father/daughter reunion, she'll say:

"I can feel the change burning under my skin. How can it happen so fast?
Sacred Y'ffre, forgive us all!"

After Thulendor is defeated, Firwin will run towards the village where her mother is leaning against a monolith:

"My little Firwin … is that you? I can't see you clearly.
I'm so tired, dear."

From here the two, mother and daughter, are frozen in a strange tableau. We never see Dailithil drink the heartblood and become cured, so the tale is left open ended as to how the story really ends.
