Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Destroy the Dwarven Dynastor Supreme at Sentinel Point.
- Use the Dwarven Maintenance Rod to render three Inactive Dwarven Spiders non-hostile.
- Talk to Gwenyfe in Markarth.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Gwenyfe informs you that there's a giant mechanical construct in the caverns below the Reach which is producing new Dwarven Spiders. A scholar recently reached out and requested that the Stonehands send someone to test a Dwarven Maintenance Rod on the Dwarven Spiders in the area. The scholar hypothesizes that using the rod on an inactive spider will render it passive.
Take the rod and enter Blackreach. The Nalzthdbar Great Lift will bring you the closest to Sentinel Point, where the Dwarven Dynastor Supreme is located. Destroy the giant construct and use the rod on three spiders. When you use the rod on a spider, it will rise and scuttle away. Once your task is complete, return to Gwenyfe in Markarth to be rewarded for your service to the Stonehands.

I need to find the cave where the Dwarven construct is and destroy it. I should also use the Dwarven rod on any Dwarven spiders I see to render them docile.

Hidden Objective: Use Rod on Dwarven Spiders

I destroyed the unusual Dwarven construct and verified the rod makes Dwarven spiders docile. I should return to Markarth and claim my reward.

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
