Shadakul the Necrologist was an Orc scholar who specialized in the study of decay. She was a daily quest giver who resided within the Arboretum refuge. Her apprentice, Veriasa, was also the subject of a quest.

You could have asked her about her profession during the flesh sac quest.

"I believe that each flesh colossus has several of the sacs I need. Necrotic hoarvor have only one apiece.
Whichever is easiest for you to find and slay; it makes no difference to me. The sacs are basically the same. Good luck."

Yes, I am the senior necrologist here in the Imperial City. Or at least I was before all of this happened."

Necrologist?

"Yes. It's a highly specialized field dealing in toxins and infectious diseases that derive from dead creatures raised through necromancy.
Raising the dead is a powerful but highly unstable science. When it goes wrong, I'm there to advise."

That's a very specific role.

"You'd be surprised how often it comes up. Or maybe you wouldn't. You've been 'round the gravestone more than once, I'm sure.
Anyway, it's serendipitous that I was here … for everyone else, I guess."

Why can't you take samples from here? / So why can't you just take the samples from here?

"I certainly wouldn't drink it if that's what you're asking. Unless of course you want to volunteer as a test case.

Don't stray far though. I suspect I'll need more specimens soon."

"These sacs are helpful, but I'll almost certainly need more before my study is complete. Please, check in from time to time. I may have more work for you."

"Ah, my erstwhile assistant returns. Excellent."

"I am sorry to send you out into harm's way once more, but … well … I've got to send you back out into harm's way. Sorry."

"Ah, thank Mauloch you've returned. My experiments are going well, but I'm afraid I've been a little overzealous."

"I've made headway, but I'm running perilously low on specimens. I'll need more necrotic sacs to continue. Will you find more for me?"
