Can you tell me about the Mages Guild?

"Certainly. The Guild is a scholarly organization dedicated to the pursuit of arcane knowledge. We travel the width and breadth of Tamriel seeking out books, tomes, and ancient scrolls.
We've not met with much success here in Wrothgar, though."

Why is that?

"Most books are being sent to capital. The great Orsinium Athenaeum was plundered during the second conquest. The Orcs have (gone to) great pains to recapture some of that lost knowledge. I can hardly blame them."

How can I join the Mages Guild?

"I'd suggest heading back to your alliance capital. The Guild registers here can gauge your aptitude. From the looks of it, I'd say you're a shoo-in.
