Log 1:
"No soul," she says. What is a soul, anyway? An extension of oneself trapped within flesh that's destined to rot away into Oblivion.
But on its own? True immortality. Free from confinement. From death. Fortunately, I was found by others who understood my ambition after hearing of my work. Who knew the Worm Cult was working on something similar and needed my help! Truly, they have many resources, enough for me to continue my research and save my beloved.
The Worm Cult calls their device a "Reaper." I see the similarities in our work, but harvesting the soul from a living being? Simple, yet genius! And their resources are plenty. There are a few glaring problems, but with their tools, it shouldn't be long until I snuff them out. And then, I'll complete my act of love.
We will not be bound by the fate of our bodies anymore. Now, I must hurry. There's not much time.
Log 2:
I've yet to make peace with the sacrifices I've made to come this far. But sacrifice begets progress. And I'm so close to perfecting this compared to where I was on my own.
The tool I originally designed was meant to harvest a living soul who had already passed on and pull them back to Nirn to live as a soul forever. However, that had its own challenges I couldn't see through. My act of love was rushed and incomplete due to impatience. I grew hasty and hurt her. But stripping the soul away from a living, breathing person? How quick and painless!
The Worm Cult knows not to hold back when it comes to their desires. I have been gifted two specimens to experiment with as I wish. I take no pleasure in causing pain, which is why I'll approach this delicately. I will reap the gifts given to me and strip away the flesh that controls their lives.
And soon, you too, my love. Wait for me.
Log 3:
I've done it. Their flesh peeled away. Their lives, now infinite. Death has no control over them now. The Worm Cult gave me many thanks and led the souls away. They were frightened, naturally. I can't imagine seeing one's corpse to be a pleasant experience, no matter the good that's come out of it.
But I'm afraid I've been blind to the reason they brought me here. I've heard whispers of trying to enslave these souls for some darker purpose. I believed we both had similar goals with the reaper device. To strip us from the bodies that inflict us with sickness and diseases. To cheat death. To stay forever with our loved ones. Not subject us to more control!
I've decided to destroy the rest of my work here and return home with the Reaper. We'll use it on each other and flee far. Away from everyone. For eternity.
Log 4:
It's too late. They snatched my reaper plans from me. Earnest, genuine work, now continued by fiends who only wish to reap endless souls for their senseless violence. Now, I'm in a cell while their cult continues with their experimenting, for only Azura knows what.
Forgive me, my love. I tried to take your life because I couldn't bear to see you suffer. I only wanted to free you from your pain and bring your soul back, forever at my side. And now I'll miss your final moments.
May you leave this world painlessly and your soul never disturbed. I wish I could join you, but you were right. I have no soul—no soul fit to be by your side, my beloved Mivry. I belong here to serve whatever purpose the cult has left for me. If it's to have my soul fight by their bidding, I'll fight for you."
