Pokun will greet you:

"Are you surprised to find someone of my immense renown sitting here, weary and injured? And on Nirn of all places?
There will be no show this day, no spectacle for entertainment. Not with my escaped lesser Daedra roaming free."
Accepted the quest from the Crown Store or Warning: Wandering Monsters Spotted:
Accepted the quest directly from him:
I saw a note about Daedric creatures attacking people. Is this your fault?
"Fault is a strong word. I operate Oblivion's premiere traveling creature exhibit. Notable entities across the planes line up to see my show.
But my portal spell went awry and I crashed here. My creatures fled, leaving me alone in this strange land."
There are Daedra here? How did that happen?
"Magic gone awry, mortal. I operate Oblivion's premiere traveling creature exhibit. Notable entities across the planes demand to see my show.
But, while portaling to Fargrave my spell inverted and I crashed here. My creatures fled into your land."
That doesn't sound good.
"No. My portal spell needs retuning. But my creatures. Their majesty is wasted here, and I can't deprive Fargrave of my show. Also, they tend to be rather destructive.
Mortal, retrieve my five creatures and I can provide you with treats."
I'll retrieve your lesser Daedra so you can perform in Fargrave.
"You'll need my whistle and compass to retrieve the creatures. The compass shows their location and I can speak to you through it. Blow the whistle near the creatures to send them back to me.
Find these tools among my possessions on the hill nearby."
Tell me more about yourself.
"One of my favorite topics. As the owner of Plokun's Inquisitive Menagerie, I bow to no Prince or master. I call no plane my home. My vocation takes me wherever the desire to see my creatures exists."
Why did you start your traveling creature show?
"My kind only follow what our inner natures decree. I have always collected creatures to put on display. Only recently have I focused on lesser Daedra. Before that it was the undead. Hmm … should mortals be next? Ah, who would want to see them?"
I'd like to hear more about your creature show./I'd like to hear more about your traveling show.
"Plokun's Inquisitive Menagerie. A demonstration of the unique abilities and supreme quality of the creatures in my collection.
When I receive a summons by an entity of sufficient power, we transport the creatures and put on a show like none other."
What does a show typically consist of?
"The creatures take the stage one-by-one as I recite compelling details about each. The audience watches, enraptured, as the magnificent beasts demonstrate their skill in violence.
Then I destroy them each in turn, revealing their disposability."
You destroy the creatures in your show?
"Naturally. The audience loves that part.
Oh, I see your mortal concern. Don't forget, these are lesser Daedra. They return to me in short order."
Do the creatures perform any tricks?
"Tricks? No, this is not the same as the circuses of Nirn. My kind lacks the dangerous chaos of joy and imagination that plagues mortals. We require no tricks to entertain us."
What kind of Daedric creatures are on display?
"Oh, there's a daedrat from my time in the Deadlands, a few Atronachs from across Oblivion, a particularly sassy scorpion. I have all kinds!
You will meet them soon enough. Perhaps you'll get a personal demonstration of their dangerous potential."
I'm curious about your whistle and compass.
"Each is a quite powerful device made specifically by Daedra. I honestly don't know if a mortal mind can even hold the knowledge required to use them, but let's give it a whirl and see.
Which tool would you like to know about first?"
The whistle./What about the whistle?
"A gift from a Xivilai summoner named Nusizata after she was quite taken by my menagerie.
Play its tune where one of my creatures can hear it and a portal will open to whisk them back to me—whether they want to return or not."
The compass./How about the compass?
"I had that compass crafted after several mishaps we won't discuss.
It provides an intuitive sense of each creature's location, while also creating a telepathic link to me. That's how the whistle knows where to deliver my lost flock."
You mentioned we can communicate through it?
"Indeed. While it remains in your possession, you and I shall be telepathically linked. Thus I can speak to you when required.
Not my preference. Mortal thoughts are similar to a banekin's. But maybe your mind will impress."

After asking about one of the tools you can also say:

I know enough about the tools.
"Stupendous. Then you know all you need to find my amazing creatures.
Scamper off, then. Unless you wish to ask anything else?"

After retrieving Plokun's Compass and Plokun's Whistle:

Plokun : "Give the compass a squeeze. It will tell you the locations of my remarkable creatures."

If you talk to him before using Compass:

"Good, you found them. The compass will keep you apprised of my flock's whereabouts. The whistle's tune will deliver them back into my arms.
Well go on, use it. Find my creatures so that the show can go on!"

After using Compass:

Plokun : "Not like a mundane compass, eh? You'll know where to find my creatures while it's in your possession."

If you talk to him again:

"Well done, now the compass will be sure to lead you to all of my little ones. Once you've located them, use the whistle to teleport them back to me.
This isn't the first time they've wandered off, sadly."

After capturing Barzuso:

Plokun : "Brave Barzuso truly relishes a fight against deadly amphibians, but it's time to come home."

After capturing Roki:

Plokun : "Audiences love to watch Roki ignite other creatures, but he should save it for our shows."

After capturing Thalani:

Plokun : "The poor dear is exhausted. They must have truly tormented her. Thalias abhors violence."

After capturing Taro:

Plokun : "Taro isn't the brightest of atronachs, but he does love to splash."

After capturing G'uub:

Plokun : "G'uub! Those mortals were already dead when you got here, right?"

Once you captured all the Daedra, he will call out for you to return:

Plokun : "Well done, mortal! That's all of them. Return to me and we can conclude our business."
Plokun's Inquisitive Menagerie

After returning to Plokun:

Plokun : "You've returned! I'm glad to see those stories of untrustworthy mortals weren't all true."

Speaking to him:

"A fine job, mortal. With my creatures returned safely and back under control, I can head to Fargrave as originally planned.
Unfortunately, I still require your help. My portal spell should work, but it may be unpredictable."
What do you mean, unpredictable?
"My calculations could contain errors. I am a purveyor of entertainment, not a mage by trade. Impromptu spells aren't my strong suit.
It's possible that as I open portals to send my creatures to Fargrave, anomalies may arise."
How can I help with that?
"The compass is the answer. If anomalies appear while I'm casting, you must use the compass to repair them. Since I'm linked to the compass, it can redirect any stray energy back to me.
Simply hold the compass to each anomaly so I can repair it."
Got it. I'll take care of any anomalies that may appear.
"Then let's get started. Stay close. Portal magic is either perfectly straight forward or extremely complicated. Depends on the mood of the universe, I suppose."
Plokun casting teleportation spell

He will start teleportation spell:

Plokun : "You can do this, Plokun. First, picture Fargrave. The cool gray rocks, the brilliant skyscape, Madam Whim's satiny voice …."
Plokun : "Not a good start. Mortal, hold the compass near the fissure so I can repair it!"

After using the compass on Volatile Magicka Fissure:

Plokun : "Ah, I opened a portal but it's unstable. Bring the compass to it!"

After using the compass on the Unstable Portal:

Plokun : "Good work, mortal! Nearly done."
Plokun : "Oh, not again. We must repair those four rifts. Mind your fingers."

Using the compass on all of the Planar Rifts:

Plokun : "Finally, it is done."
"Well, there they go. My creatures are off to Fargrave and I'll follow soon behind them. Plokun's Inquisitive Menagerie will perform as planned, thanks to you.
Perhaps I underestimated the capabilities of mortals."
So you're all set to put on your show?
"Oh, yes. I plan to impress Madam Whim to no end. A good review from her and every powerful entity in Oblivion will be knocking on my door, so to speak.
Here, some treats for you. I always reward my creatures when they perform adequately."

After completing the quest:

Plokun : "Something about this awful plane must confuse portal magic. Yes, that's the reason."
Plokun and his menagerie makes it to Fargrave

You can talk to him:

"I'll clean up my mess here once my strength returns. Then, I can teleport to Fargrave. No need to concern yourself further about me, mortal.
You're a capable sort though. Maybe you'd be interested in joining my show? Hmm, perhaps not."
This performance in Fargrave seems important to you.
"You have no idea. With my creatures in Fargrave, I can finally put on my command performance for Madam Whim. No one has greater influence in the varied halls of Oblivion than she does.
A word from her can make or break a career."
Any plans after that?
"I have a scheduled stop in Sanguine's realm of Revelry. He's always on the hunt for new entertainments and I am happy to provide.
The killing portion of the show should certainly satisfy their unique tastes."
So you have control of your portal magic again?
"Most definitely. This was but a minor obstruction on the road to renown. It shall never happen again.
I hope you and I have an understanding. No one should ever hear of this. I will not have my reputation besmirched by an obvious fluke of fortune."

Plokun and his menagerie can subsequently be found among the stalls in Fargrave Outskirts. He will have slightly different dialogue when spoken to:

"Ah, mortal. I didn't expect to see you in Fargrave. Indeed, I wasn't even certain your kind could travel here.
As you can see, my fabulous creatures are eager and ready to perform. And as soon as Madam Whim summons me, the show will go on!"

He and his creatures disappear from Fargrave after the Gates of Oblivion Celebration ends.
