Before the quest he'll only say:

"What are you doing here? Turn back while you have the chance."

After you've started the quest, you can ask him about the general, which he will give directions to and a warning about the cannibals:

I need to see General Raetus.

"You do, eh? It'd better be important. You'll find him in one of the ruined buildings north of here.
A word of advice: don't stray into the western side of the prison. Not unless you want to be eaten."

Eaten?

"For dinner. Some of the prisoners have gone feral.
Captivity with no hope of escape will do that to the weak-minded."

Thanks for the warning.

You can ask him a few more questions.

"If you can stop to chat, your business must not be all that important."

Rumors say this place is cursed./I've heard rumors of a curse here.

"That topic is off-limits for me.
General Raetus might tell you about it."

Why did some of the prisoners go feral?

"I don't know, and I figure I'm better off that way.
Think about it."

If you speak to him after the quest, he'll say:

"Why are you still talking to me?"

The Keystone

If you choose to destroy the keystone, he will thank you:

"Thanks for freeing us. Sure will be great to get out of this place."

After the quest:

"You still here?"
