Dialogue[edit]
Spindleclutch I[edit]
She can be found webbed to a cross and guarded by corrupted guild members. When they are killed, she can be spoken to:
- "You...you're not crazy! You can't be corrupted by the whispers either?"
- Looks that way. What happened to you? /What happened here?
- "All those people you just put down? They were my comrades...until we came here. This place...the whispers...it drove them all mad. The few of us that didn't lose our minds were captured and strung up.
- Speaking of...can you help me down now?"
- Okay. <Free Mereel>
- Why don't the whispers drive you mad?/Why aren't you corrupted like everyone else?
- "Meridia protects me. I champion her cause against the Daedra, and she bestows her blessings upon me."
- You think the whispers are coming from a Daedra?
- "I don't think...I know. I can smell the thing."
Once she is freed, she will say:
- Mereel: "Seed and spleen, that was uncomfortable. I think my tail's gone numb."
When she is spoken to again, she can give you the Fighters Boon blessing:
- "I can barely walk, much less fight.
Go on without me. Find the others who survived. Our leader, Sud-Hareem—I'd bet anything he's still alive. Save him if you can."
Speaking to her again:
- "I don't think I'd be much use to you in this condition. Go on, leave me here. There may be others who need your help.
And if you find a Redguard named Sud-Hareem, tell him I'm here. Tell him I'm waiting for his orders."
- [Persuade] Is there anything you can do to help?
- "I suppose there's one thing I could do for you. A little prayer our comrades used to say before battle."
- "For blood, for glory, for power and might,
- We of the Guild will always fight.
- For good or evil, day or night,
- We of the Guild will always fight.
- ...Just so long as the price is right!"
Spindleclutch II[edit]
While looking for his friends, Guardian Sud-Hareem will come across Mereel and ask her what happened when he was gone.
- Guardian Sud-Hareem: "Over there! It's Mereel!"
- Mereel: "Sud-Hareem? I thought you were dead. They came in the night. Overwhelmed us."
- Guardian Sud-Hareem: "Who did this? Where's At'avar?"
- Mereel: "I don't know. At'avar and Faulor ran farther in when we were attacked."
- Guardian Sud-Hareem: "At'avar! Where are you?"
The Blood Spawn then leaps down and attacks the group. Once it is destroyed, Sud-Hareem wil come to a conclusion.
- Mereel: "Holy Divines, look at the size of that thing!"
- Guardian Sud-Hareem: "First the blood fiend, now a gargoyle. That settles it. Vampires."
- Mereel: "Vampires? You think they know what they're dealing with?"
- Guardian Sud-Hareem: "If not, they're in for a painful lesson."
Mereel can then be questioned:
- "What is it? You want me to stab something?"
- What's Su-Hareem's story?
- "What's to say? He's a good leader, a good soldier, and a protective father. More than that, he'd have to tell you."
Further in the caverns, the group will come across the spirit of Praxin Douare who seems confused about what is happening.
- Praxin Douare:' "Sud-Hareem! You've escaped!"
- Guardian Sud-Hareem: "Yes, Praxin. The Whisperer is gone."
- Praxin Douare:' "No. You can't be real. I was going to rescue you. And then I heard her voice."
- Guardian Sud-Hareem: "It's over, Praxin. You can rest now."
- Mereel: "Boss, I don't think he's listening."
- Praxin Douare: "You aren't real. You're one of her illusions. I won't let you stop us!"
- Mereel: "Why is nothing ever easy?"
- Praxin Douare: "Join my nightmare."
After Urvan Veleth is defeated, the fighters guild group will rush into the vampire's lair:
- Guardian Sud-Hareem: "At'avar! Where are you?"
- Faulor: "I don't like this."
- <Sud-Hareem then sees At'avar.>
- Guardian Sud-Hareem: "At'avar! Wake up! Wake up!"
- Mereel: "Have to agree with the elf, boss. There's some serious magic here. This place screams 'ambush'."
- <[A flash of bright light fills the room.>
- Vorenor Winterbourne: "Ambush. What a lovely idea."
Once Vorenor is dead Mereel can be spoken with.
- "This wasn't supposed to happen. We were supposed to save At'avar at the last moment."
