Merano is a Dark Elf commoner who is found sitting next to Renardine near the fountain north of Doom and Draughts in Port Hunding.

He occasionally has a quiet conversation with Renardine:
- Renardine: "I can't, Merano, I just can't."
- Merano: "You can, you must. I know you want to."
- Renardine: "But it would be wrong, I think. And dangerous."
- Merano: "Nonsense. You kiss him, I stab him, and then you're free!"
- Renardine: "You make it sound so simple."
- Merano: "It is. Let's do it tonight!"
- Renardine: "Tonight? Hush—someone's listening."
