Lumber Wagon Guard

Wagon Guards are Nords found just outside the main gate of the city of Ebonheart. Hraelgar Stonecrush will challenge you to fight one of them, which they heartily encourage.

Skills and Abilities

Quick Strike

A basic melee attack that does minor physical damage.

Heavy Attack

A heavy melee attack that does moderate physical damage. It can be blocked to set the enemy off balance.

Throw Dagger

The enemy backs away from the player and throws a dagger at the player. This attack Causes snare and bleed if it connects. This attack can be interrupted to set the enemy off balance. The dagger can be blocked to prevent the snare and bleed and reduce the damage done.

Ignite

A combo move that is only performed if Archers, Fire Mages or other fire using enemies (Flame Atronachs, Scamps etc.) are around. The enemy throws a glob of tar under the player's feet as indicated by a red circle. While this does no damage, standing in it will snare the player. The Soldier will call for the other enemy to light the tar (usually accompanied by a voice clip) and the red circle will burn, doing moderate flame damage over time to enemies within the red circle.

Quest-Related Events

Speaking to any of them outside of the quest and you'll get the following remarks that are gender specific.

Male Log Rollers:

"We perform an important service, you know. If not for us, the Dark Elves would never see a massive log or a long, smooth piece of wood ... especially the lady Elves, if you know what I mean."

Female Log Rollers:

"I signed up to guard these wagons for the money. And guarding's the only thing I take money for. You got that?"

During the quest, you can ask for a fight:

Fight me! Or are you too drunk to dodge a punch?

"Ha ha ha! You could only beat me if I was blind, stinking sober ... and I'm not!"

During the brawl, they'll call out any of the following lines:

Wagon Guard : "Come at me!"

If you speak to them during the quest while sober, you can only say:

I need more mead. I'll be right back.

When you win:

Wagon Guard : "Oof! I yield, friend. Good fight!"

Speaking to them after the brawl:

"Ah, you're a good drinking mate, friend. Come back and join us again sometime. "
