After you learn about his outstanding debt, you can track him down. You have the choice of taking his money or telling him the truth—the one looking for him is dead.
- "What is it you want? Wait, what are you holding? Is that … no! He must have sent you. Please, I need more time."
- That's right. I've come to collect your debt.
- "Take it, just don't hurt me."
- I'm here to give you the note actually, the man you owed is dead.
- "Long may you prosper, wayfarer. You have lifted a great burden from me."
Either way, you will receive some gold from him.
If you decide to forgive his debt and exit out of the dialogue before turning in the quest, he will say:
- "I wished no ill upon the man, but if the Divines will my freedom in such a way, I will not question them."
- Here is the note, your debt is no longer due. (Leads to quest completion dialogue)
If you decide to collect his debt and exit out of the dialogue before turning in the quest, he will say:
- "Don't hurt me. You can have the coin I've earned so far. For my debt."
- That'll have to do. (Leads to quest completion dialogue)
Dialogue[edit]
Normally he will be in no mood to talk.
- "Apologies, I can't be bothered right now."
After settling the matter of his debt, he will instead thank you again.
- "Thank you again. I had forgotten what it feels like to feel free."
If you decided to collect his money, he will instead:
- "I don't have any more gold. Give me more time."
