When you meet Hamen Athren outside Muth Gnaar, he seems worried:

"Things are in some disarray here at the monastery. Did you need something important?"
I'm here on behalf of some Nords. They'd like to make a trade.
"I don't know what to tell you, stranger. Have you seen what's happening here?
Did you bring arms and armor, or maybe some kindlepitch? We could use some Nord war supplies right about now."
Well, I have this relic ….
"That's an animal heart! Like, from an ox! What am I supposed to do with a dried ox heart?
Patience. Patience. I suppose you want something in exchange for this?"
That's the idea, yes.
"The Three have taught us, "Fulfill your rights and duties."
"Here, take this loaf of stale bread. Tell them it's the Holy Loaf of … oh, I don't know. Make something up. Exaggerate. Nords like that."

When you talk to him again, Hamen coldly remarks:

"If your Nord friends send some troops our way, I'm sure we can dig up more artifacts for them."

He is a bit nicer if you have already completed the Muth Gnaar objective:

"Welcome back. Something I can do for you?"
I need to ask a favor. This may sound a bit strange, though.
"I'd be honored to help in any way I can, friend. What do you need?"
I met a group of Nords in Mournhold. They want to exchange religious relics. They gave me this.
"That's a dried animal heart! Is that from a goat? I don't ....
I'm ... um ... humbled by your gift, friend. We shall put it in a place of honor and reverence once the temple is rebuilt."
Do you have something I could bring back to the Nords?
"We have so little after the destruction. Nothing that could match the uniqueness of this object."
I'm sure the Nords will understand.
"Well, here. Take this loaf of bread.
It isn't much, but it's the only Muth Gnaar lof to survive our flight from the temple."

Speaking to him again:

"We can't thank you enough for what you've done. I hope my offering helps in your endeavors."
